@TheDezembro I like to think that a huge majority of them have never touched Black Desert for one, because it also had a lackluster story with the main focus being the combat and the world. Two, it's people having preconceived ideas that "Crimson Desert will be the next x"

I can't prove it yet, but there's something really weird going on with Crimson Desert anties online lol I've seen skepticism that made sense, of course. I been on that train too, the whole "really? this game has all this stuff?" But I'll never understand shit like this. Literally just looks like a normal medieval-fantasy-landscape game. Visuals are current, too, no over-the-top stylization that may not land with some people, no "old gen" looking graphics either... But apparently now, to add to other weird criticisms, it's also ugly.

@DefrenJonathan @shinobi602 A few were saying that the puzzles were hard, the story started to get bland and the combat loop was boring (or the combat was confusing)

@shinobi602 Saw a lot of journalists saying that the story "didn't grab them" and they "just couldn't connect to the Cliff character." Translation: It wasn't gay enough. We'll see what normal players actually think.

It’s a bit disturbing to see how many players were insanely hyped for Crimson Desert until today and how quickly opinions have shifted now - hell, I think most people saw it as the potential new Elden Ring 😳 But now the reviews have come in and it sits on a 78 on Metacritic. And to most gamers, that means it’s pretty much a waste of time. But then I listened to @ForceStrategy’s breakdown, a reviewer who’s usually spot on, and he had a ton of good things to say about it - as long as you come in with the right expectations. It was honestly quite silly to expect the team that was in charge of BDO to build the next Elden Ring… but based on what Force was saying, I could easily see them still turning things around. I think in general I love the games industry for of how passionate everyone is about games - but it also feels like games get overhyped so often that it’s becoming a bit ridiculous… So… give them some time. There’s definitely something interesting going on with Pearl Abyss. For some reason, they know how to generate a ton of hype. I remember how insanely excited people were about DokeV when they showed a trailer at Gamescom a few years back. So I’d say… chill and let’s see how they’re reacting to this feedback. Will definitely be interesting to follow! 👍

Looking forward to what the gaming community thinks of the game. Personally it is not for me but I hope to hear what everyone's impressions are in the coming days.
