£32,000 a year. Graduate job. What it actually comes to:
Gross: £2,667 a month.
Income tax: £324
National insurance: £225
Student loan Plan 2: £35
Pension (4% auto-enrol): £107
Take home: £1,976.
Rent in any UK city worth living in: £1,200.
Council tax, gas, electric, water, internet: £420.
Train or petrol to get to work: £250.
Bills alone eat £1,870 of it. Leaves you £106 a month for food, clothes, socialising and any kind of life.
This is what a 'good graduate job' looks like in 2026 after 3 years at uni and £50K of student debt. How did we let them sell this to us?

A thought experiment...
Trump insiders made about $85m today, and roughly $3.9b so far in total, from open market insider trading (on his tweets etc.)
$3.9b divided by $14t in index funds gives you 0.03%. So basically, they stole $30 for every $100,000 anyone holds in stocks.

BREAKING: Just 20 minutes before Trump's announcement that the Strait of Hormuz was open, massive trades hit the market. Investors sold a combined 7,990 lots of Brent crude futures, a $760 million bet that oil would go down. These orders were much larger than anything else at the time. The traders made huge gains. Unusual.

@MercuriusFilius BAT = 1 + BALL
BAT + BALL = 2.5
BAT = 2.5 - BALL
1+ BALL = 2.5 - BALL
2 BALL = 1.5
BALL = 0.75
So BAT = 1.75
