Whist in possession it limits passing angles for sure, however, defensively it has its benefits, especially when you have a winger that wants to cut inside as they are then tackling with their stronger foot.

Nothing specific on Djed Spence, but in general terms you will never convince me that a full-back should play with the opposing dominant foot to side their on. A left-back should be left footed, a right-back should be right footed.
