I don't think it "sucks", but I kind of view it as being about comparable to the prequel movies. Maybe slightly worse. There were some iffy decisions in the movie trilogy that are hard to ignore.
Worth pointing out... I don't even like Return of the Jedi much either.

I'll probably watch the new one, although I didn't like the first one much.
"Decent" is about as far as I'd go in praising it. It was very well animated at least, and Jack Black did a good job as Bowser. But I find the weird way people overpraise it annoying. x.com/Loudfan123212/…

@mjarbo Nah, this is right. The Mario movie was terrible. Awful voice acting, terrible music selection, bad plot, lame jokes. It's well animated, but it's still a bad adaptation.
It's an hour of a half of jingling keys.

Just gonna say it, the Mario movie was one of the most soulless & bland pieces of entertainment I ever watched. An hour and a half of a recognizable IP’s iconography being shoved in your face with no real story, character development or anything to connect with emotionally.

Cuomo, the NY Post, the Daily News, several conservative radio hosts and billionaires all considered Sliwa a spoiler. The GOP was pushing Cuomo, not Sliwa. Sliwa had no chance and just sucked up votes.

This is a bad answer. It’s a non-answer, it’s an answer based on fear & caution pounded into his head by advisors & consultants. Fuck that. If you’re asked if Israel has committed “genocide,” say yes or no. Period. When I’m asked that question I emphatically say “No.” And most Democrats disagree with me, but they appreciate my honesty. These inauthentic non-answers ain’t gonna cut it anymore.
