Last session we were able to help secure $350,000 for the Rural Aviation STEM Program! Happy to see it’s taking flight and already a success! Congratulations to the first student to receive his pilot’s license and all of Putnam County Students that will benefit from this program!

Team Sapp attended the Clay High School Appreciation Breakfast, a morning dedicated to the stakeholders in the community who help the school thrive. Great job Principal Jen Halter and Mr. Mitchell on all of your successes to make the school have a lasting impact for the students!

I had a great time attending the White House State Leadership Conference for Florida. I even got to show off my (lack of) skills in the White House’s Bowling Alley!

The Florida State Guard aircraft remain on mission as wildfire activity continues to evolve across Florida, most recently in Clay and Putnam Counties. Our fixed wing and rotary-wing crews are actively covering wide sections of the state—mapping fire lines, confirming new flareups, and relaying real time photos, video, and GPS tagged intel to support ongoing ground and air suppression efforts. Close coordination with Air Traffic Control ensures our teams can stay ahead of rapidly changing conditions and help protect the communities in the path of these fires. Team Sapp attended the Special Olympics at Keystone Heights Junior Senior High! It was great to watch the athletes compete and be celebrated! Thank you Commissioner Betsy Condon and Principal Laurie Burke for the invitation!

Our office is closely monitoring the wildfires impacting Putnam County, Clay County, and areas near the Clay-Putnam line. Conditions are changing quickly, and some areas are under voluntary evacuation. Both counties are also currently under a burn ban. Please stay alert and follow updates from the @PutnamCountyEM , @PutnamCountySO, @ccsofl, @ClayCounty_EM, and @ClayFireRescue. Resources we are aware of at this time are: • An evacuation site is available in Clay County at Shiloh Baptist Church. • The Jacksonville Equestrian Center is offering evacuation stalls for horses at $25 per night. If you know of additional resources or assistance, please send them our way so we can help share with the community.

The 40th anniversary of the Clay County Fair was a great time! Best of all, I was happy to bring home 1st in class and 6th overall at the Fair’s Celebrity Showmanship Pig Show! Thank you to the FFA students for helping all of us!

I’m excited to announce I’ve been invited to participate in the Clay County Fair’s Celebrity Pig Show on Saturday. Yesterday I got to go meet the FFA students who assisted me to practice for the big show! See you Saturday Clay County!

Great to visit the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office training test track and see the professionalism and precision of our law enforcement firsthand. Thank you to the Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Jared Perdue for the invitation. I also appreciated connecting with Scott Lagasse of Lagasse Racing on the Roaring Pines Motor Club coming to Putnam County. Proud to support efforts that strengthen public safety and economic growth!
