On this day in 1845, Florida became the 27th state of the United States. From our rural communities and farmland to our beautiful beaches and cities, Florida represents freedom, opportunity, and resilience. I am proud to serve District 20 and working to keep our state strong. Happy Birthday to the Free State of Florida!

2026 Legislative Session - Week 8!

Team Sapp was proud to join community leaders and partners at the opening of the new Putnam Residential Re-Entry Facility in Palatka last month. SMA Healthcare is focused on lowering recidivism and strengthening public safety in our community. This effort was made possible through targeted appropriations from the Florida House that invested in proven re-entry services and local solutions. Yesterday I had the privilege alongside Speaker-Designate Garrison to recognize the special guests and students from St. Johns Country Day School. Amongst the students was one very special to me - my son Willard!

Yesterday I did the toughest interview of my time in the Florida House during the Florida Legislature’s “Children’s Week.” My interviewer left no stone unturned when pressing for questions to benefit Florida’s children. Thanks for the awesome interview, Trinity!

Week 7 of the 2026 Legislative Session.

Putnam County celebrated their first legislative day at the Capitol on Thursday. They did a fantastic job highlighting the county at their reception. Thank you to everyone who traveled to the Florida Capitol for this historic day for Putnam!

It was great to celebrate my home county of Clay at the Florida Capitol!

Week 6 of the 2026 Legislative Session!

It was a pleasure to spend time at Marion County Day at the Capitol. Marion County plays a vital role in District 20, and I am always proud to showcase the people, businesses, and leaders who make it such a strong and vibrant community. Thank you to everyone who made the trip to Tallahassee!

Now entering Week 5 of the 2026 Legislative Session.

Caleb Stephens from Putnam County’s James A. Long Elementary, submitted his wood burning art for display at the Florida Capitol. It is now proudly displayed on the 3rd floor. Great work Caleb!

St. Johns County Day at the Capitol was a hit! It was great to showcase the food, culture, and great works of the county that is the home to our nation’s oldest city. The day ended with a performance from the Grammy Award-winning Steve Taff Band. Of course, I had to make sure the animals from the Alligator Farm and Capybara Cafe knew the Rules of The House!
