@ArsenioOrteza I don’t remember the exact quote but Carson mentioned how he intentionally avoided politics in his monologue, etc. Letterman was political at times, but it wasn’t his bailiwick. I struggle to think of a Colbert clip where he wasn’t politically focused.

I really don't know whether the Colbert show was funny (never watched it). But I do think that if it had been, an occasional excerpt from it would've gone viral--no shortage of such clips from Carson, Letterman, and O'Brien.
