@BaltimorePeace thanks Meg. In our stormwater mgmt work, we are intentional with debris removal for the reason you mentioned. We differentiate between beneficial woody debris (slows flow, stabilizes banks, improves habitat) and problematic debris (blockages that can impede flow or cause damage)

@neorsd Why?? Leave the damn trees alone, fallen trees still serve nature! Trees belong in streams. So do beavers. No beavers, no fish. A tidy stream is an ecological desert!

🚧 Starting tomorrow (June 23), the District’s contractor, Nerone & Sons, will be on-site to remove the fallen tree from the stream using a medium-sized excavator. They will close a portion of Brook Rd. to do this work. 2/3

Dye testing today 🟢 Our investigators conducted a sewer tracing dye test along Mill Creek in Maple Heights, south of Libby Road. Green dye may be visible in the creek at the location marked and downstream. The dye is eco-friendly and poses no risk to the waterway.
