Breaking my Twitter absence to share this incredible tool built by my colleagues, it's AI-powered (ChatGPT 4o) but tuned to provide high quality, age-appropriate content, without annoying Americanisms & AI howlers. If you know any teachers that could benefit, send it their way!
Oak National Academy@OakNational

Whether it’s creating bespoke resources or helping you tailor content to your class, Aila can transform your lesson prep. Aila will help speed things along —giving you more time to bring your lessons to life.

@Bill_Matthews While I object to the general concept of Christmas goods on the shelves in September and October, I firmly believe that mince pies should not be a seasonal product - they're too delicious for that!

@nextofficial Yes it’s still happening. If we choose click and collect then the gift card option is there, but not when we choose delivery. We have tried on the website and on the app.

@nextofficial We’re trying to place an order using a gift card but it’s not showing up as a payment option at checkout. Any ideas?

@hwilliamssomers @DanNeidle @BBCr4today See the ‘Does it matter’ part of Dan’s post, but the Post Office is an arms-length company that’s supposed to manage its own finances correctly, so if it’s using that £100m to pay bonuses or re-invest into the business then it’s spending taxpayer money that isn’t theirs to spend.

@DanNeidle @BBCr4today Does this really matter? I mean, it’s a wholly-owned arm of the state. Presumably it pays a dividend if not tax? Do other public services pay income tax? Always struck me as odd that they pay VAT and NI!

@MartinSLewis There’s been a lot of speculation online about new rules requiring online marketplaces to share certain details with us, and what this means for taxpayers. The reality? There are no changes to tax rules for people who use online marketplaces. More info 👇 x.com/HMRCgovuk/stat…

Pls share. Many are worried after reports that Etsy, eBay, Vinted etc will start automatically passing sales info to HM Revenue. To set your mind at rest, best to read our full guide at moneysavingexpert.com/news/2024/01/o…, but in brief 1. There is no new tax 2. Unless you're 'trading' selling your old stuff isn't taxed 3. Only sales over c£1,700 or more than 30 items a year are reported

Judging by the mass of bins put out on my road one day early, clearly not enough of my neighbours are avid users of the Leeds Bins app. I for one welcome the dawn of the age of @thomasforth!

@fullstacktester @thomasforth Seriously though, it’s great. It links off to all the info you need on recycling, waste disposal sites etc., and it gives you 6 weeks of personalised calendar reminders every time you open it.
