@1980MLL @Mattisamazing33 @GatwickSnapper Autonomous vehicles will cut out 90% of all road crashes, which are currently caused by human error. This fact is widely accepted in the sector. I used to work for a road safety charity. Not sure where Matt get's his 'facts' from, but they aren't from a good source.

We are always told speed is the problem. This is incorrect. Incompetence is the problem. Five dead due to someone's incompetence. We have a LOT of incompetence on the roads. Middle lane drivers, constant brakers, the slow, the arrogant etc. Average speed cameras don't catch these

@Mattisamazing33 Speed is not the only problem, but it's still a massive problem. Most crashes happen in built-up areas under 40mph. Every 10mph more increases the chance of serious injury by a huge margin. Do not belittle the effect of speed, it's you that's wrong.
