New non-invasive imaging technique developed by @UniMelbMDHS researchers reveals T cells protect the eye against pathogens & inflammation, previously thought to be the role of dendritic cells. doherty.edu.au/news-events/ne… @SMuellerLab @DrLauraDownie @holly_chinnery @PNASNews

We show that immune cells resident in the human cornea that have often been called dendritic cells are in fact T cells. These are highly dynamic and respond to stimuli, including contact lens wear. We have lots more to learn about T cell in the eye!
