@BOENYC Thanks for making your unofficial election returns website live so early tonight. But the status of the returns is out of date; it say the info is current as of Sept 24, 2025. See screenshot.

@LudovicSpeaks I've been trying out Bluesky. So far it's much better. Generally a much more congenial place, and still a great source for new/interesting info.

@RodAzurmendi @No_you_124 @sabrod123 Another reason it’s insane those ppl voted for him is that he could care less if prices go up or down. If they go up, he’ll blame someone else. If they somehow drop, he’ll take credit whether he helped or not (likely not). He cares only about himself. Foolish to think otherwise.

@No_you_124 @sabrod123 I never claimed 100% of the population got raises. I'm sorry you didn't. But enough people did and still voted for Trump thinking he can magically bring back 2019 prices when cumulative inflation only goes one way.

Talked to easily a few hundred voters this year — many working class — and the precision with which some people could tell me how much a pound of steak, carton of eggs, gallon of milk had gone up (not to mention the price of rent) tells a very different story.

"It wasn’t the economy," @mtomasky says. "It wasn’t inflation, or anything else. It was how people perceive those things, which points to one overpowering answer" — the right-wing media. newrepublic.com/post/188197/tr…

The world will be crueler now. Won’t be just Trump but the license he provides to the miscreants.

Despite losing New York state's electoral votes, Trump received about 100,000 more votes than he did in 2020. specne.ws/dUSKqz

@urbaninsideout Of course, the actual voter turnout is another story. This year's general election turnout was a bit lower than in past presidential elections: just over half of those registered (about 2.6 million) voted for president. The 2020 & 2016 elections had 60+% turnout.

@dancow Apparently the electoral enthusiasm was in Trump’s favor, certainly nationwide but also locally. The magnitude of each phenomena (Harris voters staying home, Trump voters turning out) was surprising, at least to me.
