As they told me, "We are northwest of Austin where Owen was. It was pretty close." Meteors don't fall for minutes. Meteors aren't surrounded by formations of other maneuvering objects. And aircraft don't conveniently appear next to breaking up "meteors." This was a mid-air breakup of an unidentified object witnessed across the region.
