A broken arm isn’t a disease either….
Still want healthcare for it 🤷♀️

@SunDevil033 @AbortionChat I think we've exhausted this, tbh. You've made your stance clear. And I've made my position clear. We disagree.
Not much gained to continue doing so 🤷
English

@SillySahli @AbortionChat Forgiven. It's an emotional issue. I do get it. I can't pretend I've never done it, so I won't throw a stone in my glass house.
I'm happy to continue a back and forth if you want.
English

@SunDevil033 @AbortionChat I asked a series of questions and made logical connections with your responses - however this subject is a bit nuanced for the character limit.
I apologize.
This isn't a hypothetical or an abstract thought exercise for me - so forgive me if I'm a bit clipped.
English

I'm not sure what you could possibly be confused about. Even if you don't agree with my stance, I've made it perfectly clear.
"You must weep uncontrollably at the thought of IVF." That's not coldly scientific. It's snide and passive aggressive. Coldly scientific would have been: "How do you feel about IVF?" That would have been a question rooted in curiosity - which is scientific.
The major difference between your view, and mine, is I believe human rights should be automatic and given to every living human. If you tie them to personhood, you have to define what you specifically mean by personhood and then also why everyone else's version of personhood is wrong.
English

@TheAmadeus2123 @tnoexpert @Toecutta1 @jacobin State owned stores include military commissaries - do you oppose those as well?
English

@tnoexpert @Toecutta1 @SillySahli @jacobin And state owned stores are communist you dumb fuck.
Fucking moron
English

@SunDevil033 @AbortionChat I meant no disrespect - just confused on your stance, is all.
I'm a clinician, so I tend to be coldly scientific about these subjects and I tend to prioritize the people in front of me instead of the potential concept of a person.
English

@SunDevil033 @AbortionChat You're the one who said you mourn embryos that fail to implant 🤷
You must weep uncontrollably at the thought of IVF.
English

@SillySahli @AbortionChat ...do you think women are shedding fertilized eggs every time they have a period?
Do you cry every time a child is killed in a foreign conflict? Or can you care and be sad about issues even if they don't bring you to the brink of grief every time?
English

@TheAmadeus2123 @Toecutta1 @jacobin States have funds to allocate to the cities that need them. This is not exclusive to New York... And all Mamdani did was ask for an extension on a repayment plan started in 2012...
This is quite basic, dear.
English

@SillySahli @Toecutta1 @jacobin He stole $4 billion from the states pension to “balance” the budget. If you think that’s a good leader you’re fucking retarded
English

@SunDevil033 @AbortionChat So you're just out here being sad every time a woman has her menses... Strange...
English

@SillySahli @AbortionChat Yes, I mourn the loss of those lives. I wouldn't know each individual event. I just know it happens and I think it's sad.
English

@SunDevil033 @AbortionChat So do you mourn the loss of those lives? How would you even know it happened?
English

@SunDevil033 @AbortionChat Something like 40% of the time "conception" occurs, the zygote/blastocyst fails to implant.
By your definition, that is the death of a human.
English

@SillySahli @AbortionChat No, because a tumor isn't a human. A developing human is, at the point of conception, a distinct human that is objectively not an extension of the mother's body.
It's certainly attached to the mothers body - which is a natural physiological process.
English

@SunDevil033 @AbortionChat The same can be said of a tumor 🤷 would you argue that people should leave those untreated?
English

@SillySahli @AbortionChat How do you feel about the fact that the "extension" in this case has it's own distinct DNA?
English

@Toecutta1 @jacobin I truly hope his actions serve as a lesson for future generations. Mamdani is an exemplary leader.
English

@dangitman50 @yankeedraft Oh yeah, cause the women had no choice right? The only one out of the 2 who can make the choice to carry to term or not. Fuck off
English

@liziestar @MarkXartWork @nypost If your ideology is any indication of god's will, I'm just fine without it.
I choose reason and empathy instead.

Trump mulls $5K ‘baby bonus’ for moms in bid to reverse declining birth rates: report trib.al/JaBTni5

English

@SunDevil033 @AbortionChat As I see it - a fetus isn't an independent organism until it's developed enough to survive outside a womb. It's essentially an extension of a woman's body.
Abortion up to 20 weeks shouldn't even be an issue.
After that, I agree, it's complicated. But still a woman's choice.
English

Oh I absolutely agree it isn't benign. The question really comes down to if the human inside her body has value, and what that value is.
I believe they are a human deserving of human rights. I see it as a tragedy that someone thinks taking their life is a trivial thing. (Maybe you don't, but many in this conversation treat it as absolutely trivial.)
From my framework - we're talking about the mother going through a physiological adaption that, yes, is absolutely going to be taxing. It's worth noting that women have different experiences each time too. My wife had an easy pregnancy with our first, and not so much with our second.
The question is: what is worse, taking a human life, or the mother going through pregnancy.
I argue taking human life is the worst thing you could possibly do.
English

@liziestar @MarkXartWork @nypost You're missing the point - which is unsurprising.
Family is about love.
I hope you find some, someday.
English

@SillySahli @MarkXartWork @nypost One man plus one woman = infinity humans. One man plus another man = aids and death
English

@JohnBur10123558 @coolaunt2021 @AbortionChat That's a serious oversimplification of gynecology, but go off.
English

@SillySahli @coolaunt2021 @AbortionChat There’s an entire field of medicine for those who have a vagina. Yet having a vagina is considered neither an injury or a disease.
