@catsandcoffee84 In MN, everyone here is obsessed with “ going to the lake” - and I get asked often why I do not- as a kid I got dragged to a shitty lake lot with a camper full of holes and I got feasted on every night by mosquitoes and yelled at by drunk adults every day. No thanks.

I was stung by a stingray when I was 15 and that pretty much killed any future desire to go to the beach for me, or at least go into the ocean. It wasn’t a super painful event, it was just a superficial wound, but it was a humbling reminder that thousands of species live in the ocean and I don’t know exactly what’s swimming around me and I DON’T WANT to know. **shudders**
I do like beach towns and cities, though. I also enjoy walking on a pier or dining at a restaurant with an ocean view, but that’s about it.

I dislike beaches. I don’t understand the appeal of sitting in hot filthy sand with hoards of people caked in oil and lotion, broiling themselves, in front of an ocean full of human waste and—as we’ve known for a very long time now—aliens.
