Crazy earthquake here in northern Thailand.
My building was shaking violently, but everyone got out safely.
I heard a building collapsed as far away as Bangkok. Crazy.
Hope all my friends in the area are good.

Left the US in 2016 to live/travel around the world and haven't been back since.

@TheOvermanEthos Currently based in Thailand. Few years ago was based in Singapore, and before that Malaysia.
And regardless where I'm based, usually take smaller trips to nearby countries too.

@johnbcdoe @0x_ale If it stays in a foreign bank account and you're just paying with your foreign card or getting a bit of cash out of an ATM, it's not taxed.
It's currently only considered taxable if you open a Thai bank account and move money to it from a foreign source.

@JaelRuble Tip I heard YEARS ago:
If your kid does well in school, praise their hard work, not how smart they are.
Smart people will be smart regardless.
But praising intelligence instead of hard work will make them a lazy adult.
I don't have kids yet, but this idea stuck with me.
