May 7th 1973 George Harrison releases "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)". The song will peak at number one on June 10th, 1973, and push Paul McCartney's "My Love" back to the number two position. That would mark the only occasion that two former Beatles held the top two chart positions in America. Joining George on the track were Nicky Hopkins on piano, Klaus Voormann on bass, Jim Keltner on drums, and Gary Wright on organ. Wright would go on to enjoy two big hits in 1976, "Dream Weaver" (US #2) and "Love Is Alive" (US #2).

Can reporters stop using the word deal? It’s an agreement, a settlement, a treaty, an understanding, an MOU etc. Using the word deal is accepting his simple-minded TV game-show framing and contributes to the bogus drama he is trying to create.

I guess I think that the saddest Beach Boys’ song is “When I Grow Up to Be a Man”—a series of sweet questions (“Will I love my wife…for the rest of my life?”) that are lacerating exactly because they are so naive about the greatest heartbreaks that likely await.
