@SaiyaanDad @James_Schiano And have always surrounded them with a team that, at best, should be performing better than they are.

@James_Schiano We Mets fans are truly blessed. We’ve gone from the Franchise, Doctor K, deGROMINATOR and now Nasty Nolan

@Jacksonsrule I feel like we're losing sight on what the point of this meme is.

Ivana Trump died in 2022, after a fall down the stairs. But Donald didn’t bury her in a cemetery - he buried her at his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey. A simple grave, no flowers, no visitors. But behind that decision was strategy, not grief.
New Jersey law gives massive tax breaks if land is used as a cemetery - no property, income, or sales tax. Trump quietly registered the land as a nonprofit cemetery, turning one grave into a tax shield worth millions.

Hit me with the harshest reality truth.

@Scaramucci I wish these ideas worked but Biden literally set their states up to become a mecca for green energy jobs and they care so little that their representatives feel safer just letting the president dismantle all of that than make a show of standing up for them.
English

Let me give the Democrats the only advice they actually need right now. 👇🏼
Stop the anti-Trump rhetoric. It doesn't work. It has never worked.
Move on!!!
Campaign on renewal.
Reconnect the bottom half of this country back to the social contract.
Talk about:
-jobs training
-better schools
-more food in schools
40 to 50% of kids are showing up hungry and you cannot learn on an empty stomach.
Go back to your roots.
Mario Cuomo got these voters. Lyndon Johnson got these voters. JFK got these voters.
Go back to them and say, we're sorry.
We disconnected from you.
Trump gave you an avatar for your anger.
We're here to give you actual solutions.
Do what Newt Gingrich did in 1994.
Put together a contract with the American Worker.
List every single thing you're going to do for the people who feel most left out.
Make it concrete. Make it a promise. Make them hold you to it.
But if you spend the next two years attacking Trump and waving the Epstein files around, he owns the Department of Justice.
It's his personal law firm now. You will get nowhere.
Focus on the future.
The people who feel left out don't need more outrage.
They need a plan. Give them one.

@SteveKBark Almost as funny as Ron Watkins probably giving away that he's Q.

tl;dr for those who don't want to read the whole NYT article:
- John Carreyrou, the journalist who exposed the Theranos fraud, spent a year building the case that Adam Back is Satoshi
- Back essentially blueprinted every core Bitcoin concept on Cypherpunk mailing lists a decade before Bitcoin launched
- Back went silent on those lists exactly when Satoshi appeared, then resurfaced right after Satoshi vanished
- Text analysis scanned 34,000 users across three cryptography mailing lists and 134,000+ posts, filtered to 620 who discussed digital cash. From there, layering in Satoshi's writing quirks (British spellings, hyphenation errors, obscure crypto terms) narrowed it to one person: Back
- When confronted in person, Back denied it but allegedly slipped into first person when responding to a Satoshi quote
- Satoshi's email exchanges with everyone, including other candidates like Hal Finney, are pretty straightforward. The 2008 emails with Back are the anomaly, containing contradictions that even Back himself has publicly acknowledged don't add up. When asked to provide the metadata for those emails, Back refused.
I personally still think there's a convincing case for Hal Finney, or that it's a consortium of people, but this is the most methodical, evidence-dense case I've seen for a single Satoshi candidate. Certainly more convincing than the documentary "Money Electric" that settled on Peter Todd.
The New York Times@nytimes
Bitcoin’s founder, Satoshi Nakamoto, has remained hidden for 17 years. A trail of clues — and a year of digging by our reporter, John Carreyrou — led us to a 55-year-old computer scientist in El Salvador named Adam Back. nyti.ms/4bXWC3V

@mattyglesias In college I woke up to my roommate freaking out at a dark figure by his bed. We yelled at the intruder who then stood up and turned out to be his buddy. He just said "Uh, that's why you always make sure your door is locked!" and left. Been thinking about that a lot for, reasons.
English

@Tweetorelli @CBSNews I mean, I live right outside of NYC with 2 kids and it definitely doesn't take $300K to live "comfortably" depending on your definition I suppose.
English

@CBSNews Upper middle class starting at $150 thousand for a family of four is ridiculous when it takes at least $300 thousand just to live comfortably in the most expensive parts of the country.
English

America's middle class is shrinking, but not because people are getting poorer. Instead, more households are climbing the ladder, new research suggests.

@BigPicture425 @CBSNews I mean, he pulled back greatly from the catastrophic proposal, but also this data is from 2024.
English

@cjcmd @ImBreckWorsham "He was just bluffing most of the time the first term except for right at the end, surely we should bring him back under circumstances where he doesn't have anything to lose and has seen firsthand just how far each person within his circle would be willing to go for him!"
English

@ImBreckWorsham "I love how unhinged this guy is but surely he won't be unhinged when he gets into office"
English

I will admit it.
I LOVED Trump unhinged when he was on the campaign trail. He was outspoken, politically incorrect and fearless in his brutality. And I loved it. In the wake of so much political correctness, it was refreshing to see a man who didn't care what people thought.
He was a breath of fresh air.
He wasn't a politician and that's what I loved about him.
The problem is, our chickens have come home to roots.
We said, "let Trump be Trump."
Now here we are. On the brink of nuclear war.
Pray for America.
We did this to ourselves. And to the world.
English

@ForGoodGov @CBSNews This has always been dubious in that it's a choice. I was one of the first of my friends to get married at 29 whereas my parents got married at 21 and 23. Yes I'm sure there are people out there that feel they can't afford the marriage and home step, but there always have been.
English

@Ike_Saul Perhaps the real Trump Derangement Syndrome is the friends we made along the way.
English

@broberts1199 @Ike_Saul Newsflash: completely misrepresenting the reality of a situation is not just exaggerating.

@jack_sperry As a PSU alum, the inclusion of Allar shows the flaw in these requirements. Too many big programs have too many games against teams that are just not at the level. Any time he faced anyone remotely close to the top of the talent pool he fell apart, NFL guys will eat him up.
English

Bill Parcells' 7 requirements for drafting QBs out of college include...
1. Are they coming out as a senior?
2. Did they graduate college?
3. Were they a 3-year starter in college?
4. Did they have 30+ college starts?
5. Did they win 23+ games in college?
6. Did they have a career 60+% COMP% in college?
7. Did they have a career 2:1 TD/INT ratio in college?
This year, 7 QBs prospects meet all of this criteria:⬇️
- Drew Allar
- Carson Beck
- Taylen Green
- Cade Klubnik
- Luke Altmyer
- Diego Pavia
- Behren Morton
None of the QBs inside the top 100 on the consensus big board (Mendoza, Simpson, Nussmeier) meet all these requirements 😂

English

@broberts1199 @Ike_Saul His point is that nothing is as simple or easy for us to fix as Trump is making it out to be.
English

@Ike_Saul It’s pretty concerning you can’t understand how oil prices can go up when America has a surplus.
English

@andrewperezdc What's weird is that it's almost exclusively targeted towards big accounts. I post moderate and cordial but oppositional takes there all the time but almost never get attacked and get a fair amount of concurrence. Back when I mostly posted here I got way more hate.
English

@XFilesAesthetic What always felt off about them, besides them obviously being written completely inconsistently, was that they essentially render the rest of their lives pointless. Like, you know that aliens are about to take over the world in 15 yrs, why are you still showing up for work even?
English

Unpopular opinion 👇
The biggest weakness of The X-Files was its mythology ( main conspiracy arc) .
Not because it was confusing but because it made Mulder and Scully feel irrelevant and powerless. As the stakes kept increasing and conspiracy grew larger , they could barely affect it and couldn't stop it.
Ultimately they were reduced to spectators instead of protagonists. And it didn't quite sit right with me.

@Cine_vichaar One of the greatest blends of sci-fi and romance ever produced on a live action medium. That's what happened.
English

@TheCinesthetic SPOILER:
Stringer's death scene is my all time favorite, across both movies and TV. Goddamn poetic from every aspect.
English

The Wire (2004) Season 3, Episode 11 “Middle Ground” is where everything turns, every move finally colliding and the whole board flipping at once.
cinesthetic.@TheCinesthetic
when did you realise you may be watching the greatest tv show of all time?
