Today is the end of day 9 with no alcohol. I woke up this morning with a kind of beast mode mentality and got a lot of school work done. I officially graduate college in about a week at 40 years old, and I'm stoked on that. It hasn't been easy. I'm a single dad with 2 young kids and I've struggled my entire life, basically. Alcohol has always been my go to. But now in my life, it has depreciating value and liability. I have a good, stable job, with great benefits for my kids and I. Graduating is great and I am proud of that, but I cannot live a life of drinking like I have. There are a lot of areas where I need to improve.

You don’t have control over other people. Or places. Or things. The sooner you let that go the better.

What do you do when the urge hits and nobody’s around?

@DearS_o_n Honestly, my wife deserves a trophy the size of an airplane for being there when I was at my lowest. Not everyone is that fortunate. Always know is in your circle that will be there.
