On June 6, 1944, James Earl Rudder '32 successfully led his men up the cliffs at Pointe Du Hoc as part of the D-Day invasion of Normandy. Rudder would later become the 16th President of @TAMU, laying the groundwork for its transformation from a small, all-male military school to the premier institution of higher education it is today.

Charles Gardner has been named the 2026 Student Veteran Excellence Award recipient. A @TAMU student, Gardner helped organize outreach efforts supporting more than 1,200 veteran and military-connected students and built programs to ease the transition from service to college life: tx.ag/TAMUS060426

This week, Bryan/College Station is the heart of @Texas4H! 🍀 @txextension is hosting the 2026 Texas 4-H Roundup, an event where members from across the state compete in roughly 50 events spanning agriculture, family and community health, leadership, natural resources, and STEM.

Dr. Samuel Kim has been named Chief Innovation Officer and Associate Vice Chancellor, removing the interim title he has held since October 2025. Texas A&M mourns the recent passing of Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Thomas G. Darling ’54, a decorated military hero and beloved former Commandant of the @AggieCorps. His 33-year Air Force career included more than 7,000 flight hours and numerous prestigious honors. As Commandant, he left an indelible mark on the university, and his legacy lives on through the Sanders Corps of Cadets Visitor Center he championed, the Darling Corps Recruiting Company named in his honor, and the countless cadets whose lives he shaped during and beyond his tenure. He dedicated his post-military life to ensuring cadets had every opportunity to succeed, establishing academic support programs, formalizing recruiting efforts and initiating the Corps Hall of Honor program. Everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes our controlled detonations. Texas roads are getting stronger thanks to robotics built at The Texas A&M University System. The @TTITAMU developed AMAZE, a patented system that runs asphalt tests from start to finish with zero human help, catching weak materials before they ever hit the road. By catching problem materials early, the system helps roads last longer and saves Texans millions every year.
