New World Screwworm Rapid Response
Sniffing our way to success!  In Gillespie County, Texas today, APHIS's brand new detector dog teams are piloting sniffing around local sheep & goat sale barns for any signs of screwworm. With support from @TAHC, our dogs are training in real-world New World screwworm conditions and strengthening their capabilities for deployment at ports.  A big thank‑you to our sale barn partners. And thanks to our canine hero Gonzo for his service in our NWS eradication efforts!
