It's April, so why are June bugs out? Despite the name, June bugs can be seen late spring throughout the end of summer. The time of emergence depends on temperature and environmental conditions. These beetles serve as a food source for birds, lizards, fish and other predators. However they are attracted to light and can become a nuisance when surrounding lights at night. To help keep June bugs under control, turn off porch lights when not in use. Learn more about June bugs and their role here: tx.ag/JuneBugs
