It was a pleasure to record episode 100 of The Instructor Podcast live at @IntelligentADI & @ADINJChq expo. Big thanks to the two Richard’s and all the also folk that turned up to watch.

The voices of these young people affected by the “madness” of a young driver crash which resulted in the death of Eleanor McGrath at the age of 14, and serious injuries of her friends, is brave and impactful. Gill and John McGrath speak powerfully about the avoidable death of their daughter, and the young driver ends the piece from jail with a very clear message. Here is a short clip. I was pleased to be asked to speak at the Young Driver conference this week @FirstCarUK @racfoundation and to generate some debate and discussion on young driver policy. But, I would have rather heard some good news (or maybe any news) from @GuyOpperman @transportgovuk on how to save lives. What could be more important than that? A @RishiSunak @Mark_J_Harper response to the rise in deaths or serious injuries in young driver crashes. Or the response to the petition on #GDL or the results of the research on young driver risk #Driver2020 Or anything they planned to do to #stoproaddeath But none of that - just too busy - and in the meantime, there is a policy vacuum with delay, obfuscation and inaction. The result is more avoidable deaths and serious injuries in young driver crashes. And @Keir_Starmer @LouHaigh @Bill_Esterson remain silent too. And they will ask for my vote!!
