@weeklyshowpod Is it possible that the constitution is an abstract concept to most Americans, left right and center? The specifics are, perhaps, wordy and poorly understood. Maybe it's easier to understand "The things you love, whatever they may be, are under attack. We must fight back."

"up to 25%". This isn't the pitch you think it is.

@WootingKB I will agree that these features are unfair (today). These changes are fundamentally altering how the keyboard works, and anyone who doesn't have them is at a disadvantage. Not because the new features replace skill, but because they remove an outdated and ubiquitous limitation.

@WootingKB ...but automation can only become 'cheating' when it stacks multiple actions from a single user input: A-A-D-D-A-D for example. Rapid Trigger and SOCD improve keyboard design to better follow user intent specifically for gaming, ignoring design limitations intended for typing.

So this little hype is over, we are glad Valve has taken a stance against Snap Tap. Don’t use Snappy Tappy (SOCD) or Rappy Snappy in CS2 any more as it will result in a kick.
CS2@CounterStrike

Recently, some hardware features have blurred the line between manual input and automation, so we've decided to draw a clear line on what is or isn't acceptable in Counter-Strike. More information in today's blog post; Side-stepping Skill: store.steampowered.com/news/app/730/v…

@CounterStrike As a temporary measure, this makes complete sense as the feature isn't conveniently accessible to all users. But it's not automation, it's reducing the delay between user intention and in-game reaction. This is a net benefit for gaming, and should be encouraged.

I mean just try to square these ideas in your mind: your wife died in the happiest place on Earth. And when you said "hey you guys killed my wife" they were like "yeah, but you watched the mandalorian"

A lady died because of improper food handling at Disney, and they say the husband can't sue them because - Jesus take the wheel - he signed up for Disney+, which has an arbitration clause in it. Even attempting this argument should invoke divine retribution.
Culture Crave 🍿@CultureCrave

A doctor died at a Disney Springs restaurant from an allergic reaction after being assured the meal was allergen-free The widower then sued Disney is now trying to dismiss the suit — arguing he agreed to arbitrate all disputes when signing up for a Disney+ free trial years earlier

@ChShersh If someone made a JavaScript or Python replacement that only had stricter rules and a clear path to resolving them, it's a strong start to replacing either. None of the powerful languages on the table today can serve their market share.

@ChShersh Honestly, if your language brings something powerful to the table, it doesn't need all that. You'll get the support you need to build it out. I think people are wary of yet another flavor of the same old thing, but this time without all the creature comforts they're used to.

Expectations from a new programming language are crazy nowadays. A new language has to Have a formatter Have a linter Have a build tool Have a package manager Have documentation Have project templates Have a friendly community Have a minimal ecosystem of CLI parsers, web servers, generic http clients Have a fancy website Compile fast Run fast Bring something new to the table Have great error messages Be better than OCaml It’s almost impossible to start a new thriving language.

@kelseyhightower They shouldn't be horrifying, but they are. We don't currently have a mechanism to fill the space. It's not as simple as letting the giants fail, we need to rewrite most of the design from the ground up then build the tools to move there.

@TychoBrahe idk man, there's a lot of rough stuff going on with coffee farming, and hardly anyone is going to go through the nuance of roasting at home. This isn't nothing.

No it isn't, this is a stupid lie It's not a luxury, it's a life practice; a daily ritual If you rely on villains to fleece you, you will be fleeced. If you buy from an Ethiopian market or online, the world's best coffee is 7.50 a pound max. You can start roasting this week.

I’ve been using #Windows for 30 years. It’s never been as bad at trying to be great for its users as it is right now. If it wasn’t for games, I’d only have Macs and headless Linux boxes.
