Adjusted for inflation, Ontario’s education spending is down 11% since Doug Ford’s election in 2018. The policy choice to underfund schools is felt by students, teachers and parents everyday in classrooms across Ontario. #onted #onpoli monitormag.ca/articles/fall-…

I was in the ER for 12 hours last night. The bleeding, from fibroids & adenomyosis, wouldn't stop. They finally slowed my bleeding down but when I was discharged, my blood pressure was at 172/97. I am still being told to wait 14mths for surgery. How is this healthcare in Ontario?

Thank you, @AnitaBK & school librarian practitioners from across ONT for demystifying the practice of weeding library collections. This is core work across all fields of library practice; professional librarians deselect w/ care, a critical lens, & with their communities in mind.

timethief Canadian forever🍁🦫 🇨🇦
#cdnpoli #cdnpolitics Poilievre's credibility and history add up to well, nothing. His work history prior to becoming an MP was minimal. His 18 years in the House of Commons reveals no significant legislation that addressed Canadians needs, despite his vigorous grandstanding in Question Period and continual obstruction of legislation in the House. Also, his voting record demonstrates his vote against every legislated social program Canadians needed. x.com/timethief/stat… ourcommons.ca/members/en/pie… Canada has a free market economy where it's demand and supply that set prices, not the government. But on one hand, Poilievre' is dumbing down Canadians with "common sense" and "bring it home" slogans that sound like they are right out of Trump's populist playbook. And, on the other, he's calling Trudeau down for cost of living increases that no PM has control over. As more and more Canadians rely on food banks to feed their families, grocery czars have taken shameless advantage of both pandemic and post-pandemic supply chain issues to increase prices while enjoying record high profits. Poilievre claims the Trudeau government's approach to spending and taxation is a major force driving inflation. Experts say his political rhetoric on inflation is out of touch with reality. They say it doesn't matter what Canada's government spends. Oil prices are going to rise and fall due to much larger global forces that are beyond our control, and high real estate prices are not a uniquely Canadian phenomenon. In fact, we're witnessing home costs rising by roughly the same amount throughout the developed world that we're seeing here. Poilievre is promising to downsize government and eliminate gatekeepers and red tape. However, deregulation in any sector leads to the elimination or reduction of environmental protection regulations and consumer protection regulations. Hence, it's gatekeepers that protect our interests from corporate greed and keep us, our homes, workplaces and communities safe. Still it's clear that Poilievre is hell bent on breaking up Canada with his divisive rhetoric though it's unlikely an election writ will be dropped until 2025. And, he has the support of over 80% of the media that Canadians get their news from. x.com/timethief/stat… Contrary to his lengthy history of attacking unions and workers Poilievre's generously financed CPC Public Relations team is working to make him appear and sound plausible as a "common man" and "friend of workers". They are focused on reaching voters who aren't close followers of politics via his appearance "fakeover" and $3 million "good daddy" TV advertisements narrated by his wife. x.com/timethief/stat… x.com/timethief/stat… But Poilievre's doesn't have and won't get enough voter support from Quebec to win the next federal election. The honker community of western separatist bouncy castle insurrectionists, who illegally occupied Ottawa, the fundamentalist Dominionist 7 Mountain Mandate Christians, combined with Ford's Ontario cult following still won't produce the required numbers. thehub.ca/2023-09-08/by-… x.com/timethief/stat… x.com/timethief/stat… Cicero wrote that a great statesman must have virtus (virtue), iustitia (a sense of justice) and wisdom. He must also have dignitas (roughly translated as dignity), temperance and must show generosity and be magnanimous. Trudeau exemplifies those: Poilievre doesn't. I say, it's the leadership skills and statemen-like qualities that equip any Prime Minister wannabe with what's needed to unify the country and secure their election, and I don't see those skills and qualities in Poilievre. What do you say to that?
