Norway’s decision to prohibit the marketing of unhealthy foods and beverages to children is a commendable step toward reducing overweight and obesity and protecting young people from serious conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. According to the the WHO European Childhood Obesity Surveillance Initiative, more than one in five school‑aged children in Norway are currently living with overweight or obesity. I applaud Norway’s leadership on this critical health challenge, and encourage other nations to take similarly decisive measures to safeguard the health and future of their children. who.int/europe/news/it…

Opinion | California’s reimbursement for a new patient eye exam and refraction is just $47 — third lowest in the nation and less than half the national Medicaid average. The rate hasn’t increased in 25 years. bit.ly/4qP9pKf 📝 Dr. Brian Park & Ted Lempert 📸 Melina Mara

Your pharmacist can provide treatment or some prescription medicine, if needed, for seven common conditions - without you seeing a GP. Think pharmacy first and get seen by your local community pharmacy team.

📣 Today is a turning point in what we know about brain health. The results from the U.S. POINTER trial provide the rigorous data needed to say with confidence that healthy behaviors can meaningfully protect brain health across diverse populations in the U.S. The findings, shared for the first time today at #AAIC25, tested lifestyle programs that simultaneously targeted risk factors. The programs focused on: ✅👟Aerobic exercise ✅🧠Cognitive engagement ✅🥗Nutrition ✅🫀Health Monitoring U.S. POINTER is the largest research commitment the Association has made in its history. The landmark results are testament to our commitment to our mission. Thank you to the study participants, our community, our donors, and the staff who made these findings possible. alz.org/USPOINTERresul…
