This is going to be the ONLY thread you need regarding the tariffs. Read it. Bookmark it. -- The wrong question: Are Tariffs good or bad for America & the economy? -- The RIGHT question is: What are we optimizing for? Is it stonks? GDP? Cheap iPhones? -- If so sure: keep the borders open and your cash flowing overseas -- Or is it People, Nation. Beauty? -- If so, there’s another approach. -- GDP is stupid metric anyway. What good is it if your people are miserable, your kids mutilated, your jobs shipped out, and your streets lawless. -- If materialism is your metric, you’ll get a culture full of consumers, gamblers and fake wealth. (PS - for my Bitcoiners out there, it’s not only the money printer that creates this). -- If you optimize for People, Ethnos and Nation (with Economics as a tool not a goal) you get something deeper and richer. You get real wealth.

All the Tariff worriers are stuck in a paradigm that is no longer prevalent (bookmark this). They are measuring success or failure by metrics which no longer matter, ie "GDP" and "Stonks go up" "See - Trump crashed the market - it must be a bad think bc muh free market said so" "tariffs are taxes, and taxes bad" ""supply chains are too complex. If we want nice things, we need -- I'm a free-market / Austrian Econ supporter but before I am that, I support the spirit, soul, people and culture of the West. -- Only when a culture and its people are strong, can an economy flourish for the long term. -- If you weaken them both, for the sake of increasing GDP (which is a fake & ghey measure of progress anyway) or 'stonks go up', you ultimately erode the very structure that makes a free and functional market possible. -- America and the west in general has weakened itself over the last 50 years (especially) by taking the easy way out. It decided to tax its own people and import everything (including people) from outside. -- What tariff-worriers like the growth & tech bros like @balajis miss is that winning is NO LONGER about GDP and stonks, nor is it about how many pointless things a consumer can buy at Walmart. 98% of modern consumerism is bullshit anyway. "oh but iPhones are going to go up to $2000!!" So? Why the hell does anyone need another iPhone? The last one worked just fine. -- Bitcoiners who are up in arms about the tariffs are hypocrites. They talk about low time preference but refuse to acknowledge the fact that THIS is true low time preference behaviour -- Short-medium term Pain, for true long term gain that is BEYOND just economic. -- The tariffs are part of a much larger play to Make America Great Again, not just Wall Street -- Asset prices coming down another 50% is a HUGE positive, and so would cutting out 50% of the nonsense "goods" that are imported from all over the world. -- I've lived in many, many countries and I can tell you, even those with tariffs have what you need locally. -- And seriously. What's more important for the REAL America?? 1. Making sure that Wall Street and Silicon Valley make more money because the companies they've invested in can streamline operations & cut costs through imports & off-shoring? or 2. Making sure that the things that really matter locally (food, energy, housing, etc) are affordable, local and become strong on your OWN soil? ___________ -- The game is changing. -- Winning is more than just about "money" now, and it is going to take an incredible amount of courage and long-term vision (low time-preference) to stay the course. -- So far, @realDonaldTrump is the only man with the balls to do this, and I hope he continues it -- What will help also is if he abolishes the IRS and all the other nonsense internal taxes. This will offset the rise in costs for HIS people (which is, after all, whom he represents). _________ -- FWIW, there's obviously a lot more going here. This is brinksmanship at its finest. The Tariff's are neither for everyone or forever. They are strategic as much as they are necessary to change the world order & the metric by which winning is done -- The trade relationships to emerge from this new order of things will shape the new world. It's an exciting time to be alive. _________ -- Yes. I stole @uberboyo's format for long form posts.

7/ Every action has a reaction. The extremity of the insanity started to generate an opposing force; one with more traditional values, which has been gathering momentum for a while now. Things accelerated when @elonmusk purchased Twitter to the point that ideas like traditionalism, natalism, family, community, health and ethnocentrism reached critical mass and are now a force to be reckoned with. The tide is well and truly turning… which is an incredible thing to behold! x.com/CatholicVote/s…

On a recent trip to Rio, I had 4 or 5 conversations about fertility and falling birthrates. It’s not a particularly new topic. There’s loads of discussion here on X about it. But…what I can confirm is that normies are cooked. Their solutions amount to “throwing money” at the issue, (often in the form of government handouts which are not only useless… but backfire), or immigration – which makes the problem 100x worse. I wrote an essay on it recently, which I felt is worth summarising here as a thread 🧵 (also worth bookmarking)

On July 13th 2024, something unforgettable happened. It wasn’t the assassination attempt on @realdonaldtrump (many of us knew it was coming)... but what happened AFTER that will live in our collective unconscious for eternity. A Thread, on the act of COURAGE 🧵👇

This is El Salvador. In 2019 it was the most dangerous country in the world. Less than 5 years later, it is considered the safest in the Western Hemisphere. What made this possible? How could a small nation succeed where those with more resources failed? Why are countries like the UK and the US less safe than El Salvador? A thread 🧵👇

In The Bushido of Bitcoin I add two more virtues: 9. Responsibility: (責任, sekinin) If courage is the ability to act, responsibility is the obligation to bear the consequences of one's actions and the fulfillment of one's duties. It's about owning your decisions and their impact on yourself, others and society. 10. Excellence: (優秀, yūshū) Excellence is the genesis of virtue, psychologically, emotionally and etymologically. It is the separation from average and the energy of vitality. Excellence  pushes boundaries, establishes new standards and is the driving force of progress and beauty.

What made the Samurai one of the fiercest and noblest warriors in history? What made them elite? Like all great Warriors, they had a code. For the Samurai, it was: BUSHIDO What can you learn from this code? A Thread 👇🏽

Most of us are confident that #Bitcoin is going to win… And it probably will. But then what?? Do we just become Lambo bros? The new establishment or a parasitic elite? Or Do we become more? I’ve spent the last two years asking this question. A thread on some of my findings 👇🧵

Clown world, Socialism, Democracy, DEI, Money Printing and any other kind of deranged Leftism cannot persist, not just because it’s ugly, but because it’s entropic. It is self-defeating: like scoring an own-goal and expecting to win the game. The parasitic paradigm we live in has subsisted this long for TWO reasons and two reasons only: 1. There was compounded prior generations worth of capital there to consume. 2. We allowed it. Now that much of the capital available has been eroded, and people can no longer afford things like fuel, food or housing — while being invaded by third-world biomass — Western Man is starting to wake up. It’s about time we got off our asses, and did something about it before it’s too late. The last few generations had their fun, it’s up to us now to clean house. The book I spent the last 2+ years writing, is about exactly this. It’s not about “Bitcoin” — it’s about the fact that we are moving onto a new socio-economic paradigm — and if we are to take full advantage of it, and steer the titanic away from the Iceberg, we MUST: 1. Establish a code of conduct to evaluate men by, so we know who is part of the in-group, and who is not, 2. Become wealthy — peasant revolutions are leftist, and only tear things down, 3. Build for beauty. Economic return is one thing, but pure utilitarianism is devoid of soul. If you want to build for the long term, you must inspire. “Man cannot remake himself without suffering, for he is both the marble and the sculptor.”  — Alexis Carrell Enjoy the latest teaser trailer by @heliand_22 "Beauty Will Save the World" And stay tuned... The Bushido of Bitcoin is coming soon..

If you were ever unsure of whether Ray Dalio was a fraud or not, just check out his latest post on that cringefest LinkedIn. Screenshots below. "Kamala is smart & articulate" "Not sure how far left she leans" This is the face of a traitor to his own people. Disgusting.
