@mossgatherer_ @j_mcelroy It's neither here nor there but you know the city has quite a few libraries right

Debating with friends over whether this city is uniquely bad at having indoor mingling spaces for a group of, say, 8-15 people. Like when you want to do drinks/food/board games with a bunch of people, but nobody has enough space because you're a Millennial in Vancouver.

Salt is good. Big honking chunks of finishing salt are not good.

I edited proof that rodney mullen didn't invent the flatground ollie into the wiki page for the ollie, but editors refuse to accept the truth. now it says the flatground ollie was well known in 1981 and mullen "debuted" it in 1982. whatever.

@credulousexpert A friend's mother asked if they'd turn down the music and they replied she should go to another restaurant

Ahh yes. A surly 20-year-old server with face tattoos digging a fruit fly out of your wine with her finger. One straight edge line cook making eight vegan dinners on an electric coil range stove. Unknown Mortal Orchestra playing on the speakers. My wife and I loved this place lol

@JordanVegBike I miss it. I liked that you could hardly tell if they'd served you the lager or pale ale

@chlahndz This is a good recipe/exactly where to start i think. It's pretty hard to dry out a loaf when you have a wet dough like this kind of bread, at worst the crust is a bit hard

@chlahndz I would go even hotter. You can continue baking longer with the lid off until you like the color too

I dug Barbie, but nobody's gonna learn the right lesson from it (fun star-driven one-offs are good) and we're gonna end up with origin stories for Frigidaire and Uber Eats. Can't wait for 2025's highest grossing movie: CAP'N, the epic story of Cap'n Crunch, starring Danny Devito.

@crulge I had the fantasy that I'd find a bottle I like, it's so cheap. The very cheapest stuff tastes best to me but still bad. Aromatic foot, overripe fruit, earwax

@MythicalChef Possibly it doesn't get stored in gas tight containers until packed in to-go containers as well, may be fermenting just not getting fizzy until sealed.

@MythicalChef I would guess there's a cold chain issue on their side. Maybe the hummus is made fresh daily but never refrigerated? Chickpeas are very eager to ferment, especially if there's any 'contamination' from uncooked beans.
