@peejayess1 @TodAshby It's not forcible. It's an opening of the eyes, ears, and heart so we can see, hear and know the truth. Once we see, hear and know, we will choose to believe. Before that we are blind and deaf with hardened hearts and couldn't possibly choose to believe in Him.

@TodAshby ‘Total depravity’ is a misnomer. The Calvinist portrayal of forcible salvation is just plain unbiblical and makes a mockery of Christ’s own words.

Because they treat Total Depravity like it only applies to Calvinists, and common grace isn’t part of their theology. Also, somewhere between “I reject God’s sovereign decree” and “let me explain Romans to you,” they accidentally became the comment section they warned us about. Take heart, even their replies are being sovereignly governed for our sanctification.

@KilpsBob @TodAshby Yes, she was just like me, you and everyone else. Good deeds doesn't make one good. As scripture says "even their good deed are ashes in His mouth." The heart is the issue. Why we do the good deeds. For God's glory or ours? Pharisees praying in the streets.

@TodAshby Hey Tod, WHY are my totally depraved unsaved doctor, dentist and car mechanic trying to help me instead of trying to hurt me? Do you believe that Mother Theresa (a woman who spent her entire life helping orphans) was totally depraved? Come on! U can’t be this stupid

I can but I wouldn’t because I know after 1 month I would be absolutely miserable. Nothing about this is cozy. It’s 24/7 labor and nerve wrecking exhausting assignment. I work from home so maybe a combination but I would have to leave the house frequently and be around people otherwise depression 101.

@ThrillaRilla369 I did and I loved it. Did I get accolades for doing so? Absolutely not, in fact, I was told often I needed more in my life. I didn't do it for accolades. I did it because I loved my children and wanted to raise them not someone else. And I had plenty in my life doing just that.

@priyasamagod @godlywomanhood This is the problem. Women who don't find value in loving their husband and children. As the saying goes, behind every good man is a woman. There is value in supporting your husband and raising your children. The fact you think it makes you an indentured slave is the issue.

@godlywomanhood Most importantly women would go back to being indentured labour who have no identity or value of existence. They simply become chattel again. I prefer being a person rather than someone's property, thanks.

If women left the workforce: 1. Marriage would be common again. 2. Marriages would be stronger. 3. Divorce would be lower. 4. Children would be wanted. 5. Children would be raised by their own mothers. 6. More jobs for men with higher wages. 7. Crime would be lower. 8. Families would eat healthier. 9. Mental health issues would plummet. 10. More men in leadership positions. 11. More community and help for women. 12. Women would be more fertile, have less miscarriages, and healthier due to less stress. 13. Birth rates would rise. 14. Stronger families, churches, and nations.

@CherylSchatz If you are going to preach at least back up what you preach with scripture. You will find no reference in scripture that states we are innocent in the womb. In fact, you will find numerous that state quite the opposite.

Some people think that every child is born as a sinner. The truth of the matter is that every baby in the womb belongs to God. To take the life of a child is to reach into something sacred, something that does not belong to us, and cut off a life that God Himself is forming, known and loved before they ever take their first breath.

@NimraShahzadin First off, it's beautiful and you should feel lucky he bought you one at all. Secondly, after you're married for 20 to 30 years he may just upgrade it. Thirdly, they sell wedding bands that wrap around the ring adding extra detail and beauty.

Ladies… I really need your honest advice My fiancé gave me this ring, and I feel terrible even saying this… but I don’t love it It’s pretty, but it’s just not what I’ve always dreamed of. I imagined something a bit more special, something that makes me feel excited every time I look at it. Now I feel stuck between not wanting to hurt his feelings… and not wanting to wear something for the rest of my life that I’m not truly happy with. Am I being ungrateful? Should I talk to him about it… or just accept it and move on? Please be honest, I really need your opinions

@lbr924 @L77884Stephanie @WallStreetApes It was expensive then when minimum wage was 4.25/hrs. And a full time might have paid 8.00/hrs. We didnt have cell phones so no expense there. We slept on a mattress on the floor and took hand me down furniture and kitchen supplies. Nothing was brand new.

@TrishSumner1 @L77884Stephanie @WallStreetApes We still work 2-3 jobs for ours and have roommates too. What exactly do you think you did that was so special? The cost of housing far outweighs the average pay at a disproportionately larger rate compared to even 20 years ago and certainly compared to when you were young.

@NJBeisner But one does say including the medical community one is born an alcoholic/drug addict. So that is an identity. Fact is Bible makes clear we are born into sin so we are born that way doesn't make it less a sin.

Just popping in to say like Paul, I’m chief among the sinners. I am incredibly and remarkably sinful. It’s simply not true that I inordinately focus on homosexuality while ignoring other sins or my own. However, it is true that homosexuality is one of the only sins that’s fiercely guarded as integral to identity. Most other sins, we all agree are sins. Even nonbelievers think they’re bad. And even if we have a sin like, say, fornication that nonbelievers don’t think is bad, it’s still not heavily guarded as an identity. No one says, “I was born a fornicator.” Although we’re all born in sin, homosexuality seems to be unique in that it’s not only held up as amoral or even virtuous, it’s also elevated to the place of “identity” and “who I am.” And unlike with other sins, people act shocked when Christians say they believe it’s sin because God says it’s sin. That was the purpose of this post—not to elevate myself as above gays, which I am not.

Why are people always surprised Christians believe LGBTQ is a sin? We’ve been at this for thousands of years. Why is it surprising? The Bible doesn’t update with the times.

An American buys a $138,000 home. She sends the bank $9,286. After interest, taxes, and insurance take their cut, ONLY $952 actually touches the loan. $8,300 is PURE interest. This isn’t paying down a mortgage — it’s usury, and it should be ILLEGAL nationwide.

@Mikeliberation It's your dad's birthday, not yours. Have you bothered to ask him if he wants cake or are you just making the decision for him like he's a child. My siblings and I, chose a quality of life over quantity for my father. He deserved to be happy his remaining days.

My dad’s birthday is next week—he’ll be 78 years old. Ever since he turned 70, I’ve been having issues with my siblings because they always insist on bringing a cake. I don’t like the idea of him eating cake because it contains a lot of sugar, which isn’t good for his age. Every year, after some arguments and back-and-forth, they still go ahead and get the cake for him. So this year, I told them clearly that nobody should bring a cake—that we should agree on something else. I’m the firstborn, so I expected them to at least consider my opinion. But since last week, they’ve stopped picking my calls. The funny thing is, my dad is the kind of person who will eat anything you give him. He doesn’t really consider his age, even though he still looks quite strong and healthy. And honestly, I’m serious about this. This time around, I won’t allow my dad to eat any cake. I'm trying to protect him from sugar. Am I being too controlling?

@Soteriology101 He was speaking with Jewish leaders who knew the laws, prophecies etc while Jesus was here. The whole concept of election is regeneration so one is able to see and hear the gospel and be able to make a choice. Before regeneration the choice is going to be the same, rejection.

“[Paul] witnessed to them from morning till evening, explaining about the kingdom of God, and from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets he tried to persuade them about Jesus.” Acts 28:23 If Paul believed that God unilaterally causes His elect to have faith why would Paul spend all day long trying to persuade them? Anticipated answer: “God uses means.” If the means of getting faith is proclaiming gospel to a regenerate person, what do the means of persuading someone all day accomplish that would not be accomplished by simply proclaiming the gospel to someone who’s regenerate?

The number one argument against the doctrines of grace (Calvinism) is, "But free will!" I don't care about free will. My free will is a sinful, stupid idiot. God has saved me by His grace and gave me a freed will. And with it, I will praise Him!
