the goblin thing is a unique, harmless model behavior. it would be highly valuable for openai to figure out how it happened (e.g. with data attribution or interpretability) and share their findings. this is much more realistic “model organism” than deliberately trained ones.

@mattdykema Machine shops are the most logical job environment that exists. And with all that logic real offsets exist so there is no excuse.

Most machine shops don’t have a labor shortage. They have a “nobody wants to train, document, organize tools, quote correctly, maintain machines, or stop blaming the new guy” shortage. You can’t run a 1998 process, scream about kids not caring, and call it a workforce crisis.
