@Microinteracti1 Unfortunately, intelligence is not an attribute to the MAGA cult. Your post will mean nothing to them. This is not something that they could comprehend

For years, Canada sent 70 cents of every defence dollar straight to the United States. Mark Carney just told Parliament that stops now. The room gave him a standing ovation. It is a striking thing to get a standing ovation for announcing that your country will stop subsidising someone else’s arms industry. But that is where Canada is in 2025. Carney’s case is blunt: the United States is “beginning to monetize its hegemony, charging for access to its markets and reducing its relative contributions to collective security.” And MAGA is celebrating. Winning. Always winning. USA, USA. Somewhere a man in a red hat is pumping his fist. Let me explain what is actually happening, because clearly no one has bothered. In ten months, the United States has torched eighty years of alliance architecture that its own soldiers, diplomats and taxpayers built from the rubble of the Second World War. Eighty years. Gone. Detonated, with a smile, by people who genuinely believe this is genius. Canada is not drifting away. Canada is leaving. Europe is not hedging. Europe is building a defence industry specifically designed to cut Washington out. Allies are not quietly grumbling over dinner. They are signing contracts with other people. And the MAGA faithful are cheering every single step of it, because someone told them this is what dominance looks like. It is not dominance. It is a man burning down his own house and whooping at the flames. The saddest part is not that America is losing its allies. The saddest part is that half the country thinks that is the point. Stay connected, Follow Gandalv @Microinteracti1

@Irimikiki @samocnj64 @Alexoo4 @jurgen_nauditt I think they are. Except before Trump they didn’t have anyone speaking their language. Add the white supremacists who, at last, have found someone who embraces them. Had the US been had a MAGA president from the outset they’d still be living in Stone Age

This is the repugnant character of a man who has spent his entire life expecting others to clean up his mess. A person completely incapable of taking responsibility—even for the smallest gesture. This is precisely what makes him so dangerous and unsuitable as president: Someone who treats everything like dirt and expects his subordinates to clean up after him will treat a country the same way. Without respect, without a sense of responsibility, without any consideration for those who will come after him. This is not the kind of character one wishes upon the president of the United States. This is the character of a spoiled, ruthless egomaniac.

Tbh, it’s more entertaining to see the black Africans and Muslims in Europe lie, scam and steal from shops everyday since they can’t create anything beneficial in Europe, Africa and Asia since all they’re good at is committing genocide against themselves and others depending on their religion or skin color, just like in Rhodesia and now South Africa with murdering the white farmers in those two nations. Good luck with extremely high inflation and famine, Princess.

MAGA: “Europeans are freeloaders! We pay for NATO. We pay for everything! We’re leaving.” Europeans: “Okay. Cheerio.” MAGA: “We’re packing up! No more handouts. You’ll be screwed without us.” Europeans: “I’m sure we’ll manage. Bye then.” MAGA: “Better start learning Russian. You won’t last 15 minutes without us. You’re a bunch of pussies!!!” Europeans: “Still here?” MAGA: “We’ve got 300 aircraft carriers and 10 gazillion rockets and space lasers! You europoors still have cannons!” Europeans: yawn in French, go for three-hour lunch. MAGA: “USA! USA! USA! You’ll beg us to come back!!!” Europeans: order a second bottle of Chablis.

❗️US may withdraw from NATO in the coming hours Donald Trump is set to discuss a historic issue — a potential US withdrawal from the Alliance — with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, the White House reports.

It's getting tense out there. Trump sitting down with Rutte today over a possible US pull from NATO feels like one of those moments where the alliance could shift big time, especially with the Iran situation heating up. Wonder how this plays out allies stepping up or more friction ahead?

The Zaire Rite is so beautiful 🤩 The Zaire Rite, or "Roman Missal for the Dioceses of Zaire," is a valid, Vatican-approved (1988) liturgical form of the Roman Rite for the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is a key example of inculturation, integrating African cultural expressions—like lively music, dancing, and specialized ministries—into the Mass, focusing on vibrant worship while maintaining Catholic doctrine.#CatholicTwitter

Taking the ceasefire at face value, I’ll give a brief overview of what happened during these 40 days of war and how Trump won—and won so big it blew all of us away: - The war isn’t over. A ceasefire doesn’t mean peace; - Ayatollah Khamenei has been eliminated, along with a few dozen other leaders of the Revolutionary Guards—the Islamic Revolution’s terrorist group. All of them are despicable criminals. No one is mourning them or feeling sorry for them; - Iran now controls the Strait of Hormuz. It did not before February 28 (when the war began). It used this leverage in negotiations with Trump and secured acceptance of their 10-point plan (you will see these terms are very favorable to Iran) to be the basis of 2 weeks negociations; - The U.S. has used between 10 and 55% (depending on the weaponry) of its stockpiles of stand-off munitions, which are essential for deterring China, and (it is estimated) even more of the interceptor missiles that are exceptionally important for protecting civilians in Ukraine. China is laughing; - Russia benefits from the lifting of sanctions on oil transported by sea. Putin is more than happy; - Iran benefits from the lifting of sanctions on its oil transported by sea. The regime’s new leaders are delighted; - The theocratic regime of the Islamic Revolution has NOT been changed. In fact, the terrorist, criminal leaders who were removed have been replaced by others whom experts there tell us are even more radical (if that’s even possible) and even tougher and crueler; - The Iranian people are not free. Right? I want us to focus on this fact. The Iranian people, who should have been placed at the center of this conflict as the top priority, have been abandoned. Moreover, they feel betrayed by Trump; - The crisis caused by this war, which, as you can see from the points above, has brought no significant benefits, will be felt for many months to come, most likely throughout the year—and here I am referring to the IT industry, agriculture, and the energy sector. China is the long-term winner in the energy sector because it will weather this shock, because it is investing heavily in green energy, and because the IT industries in South Korea and Taiwan will be hit by the helium crisis, which gives them time to further narrow the technological gap with the West. Europe is the big loser due to its energy dependencies and the stalling of green energy investment programs in recent years. - The 400-odd kilograms of enriched uranium are exactly where they were before the war began; - NATO is going through the biggest internal crisis in its history due to the start of this war and Trump’s insults and threats. It’s also facing a crisis of confidence in its very essence, Article 5, which I don’t see how it will overcome in the near future, if ever; - The economies of the Gulf states have been disrupted and—in part—damaged over the medium and long term; ---- Don’t you feel like winners? Especially when we’re pumping 2 euro+/litre worth of diesel into the tank and we’ll see the fall announcements with inflation at 12–14% or who knows how much. If this is a Trump victory, I don’t want to know what a defeat looks like. If you’ve made it this far, I don’t want to let you forget that the war isn’t over yet.

MAGA calls Europe freeloaders. Here’s what they’re not telling you. 1. Ramstein Air Base, the most important US military hub outside America, is built on German land provided rent-free, with Germany contributing hundreds of millions to its upkeep. The US couldn’t replace it anywhere in the world. 2. Every US military operation in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia flows through Ramstein. Lose it and US power projection in the Eastern Hemisphere is crippled. 3. The UK provides and maintains RAF Lakenheath used almost entirely by the US Air Force. Italy provides Aviano. Greece provides Souda Bay. Turkey provides Incirlik. European land. European infrastructure. American operations. 4. The US Sixth Fleet depends entirely on European ports for fuel and supplies. Souda Bay, Naples, 11 Greek ports. Without them the Sixth Fleet cannot operate in the Mediterranean or project power into the Middle East. 5. The majority of NATO’s intelligence and surveillance capacity is hosted on European soil and fed directly to the CIA, NSA and Pentagon. 6. Early warning radar at Fylingdales, UK. Missile tracking in Greenland. Norwegian monitoring stations near Russia. All dependent on European goodwill. 7. It would cost America MORE to bring the troops home than keep them here. European hosts subsidise roughly a third of all basing costs. 8. Europe is America’s largest arms customer. Stop buying American and part of their defence industry goes bankrupt. 9. The bases aren’t charity. They’re America using European soil, European money and European goodwill to project power across the world. 10. We’re not the freeloaders.

@noclador Russia couldn’t do anything against Europe even without the US. The war in Ukraine has shown that they are the paper tiger. I’d love it if the US left NATO so Europe could build a strong military of their own

You do know that Trump set up NATO and Europe, and you sad clowns fell for it! Have fun with Russia 😂🤣😂 NATO was formed with a temporary cost-sharing, with the U.S. paying the majority of funding to give Europe a chance to rebuild! It has been 77 years, and Europe has more than rebuilt! It is far past time for this cold war relic to be abolished... Under Article II, the president has full constitutional authority to withdraw from any treaty without Senate approval. The 2023 Kaine-Rubio provision can't override the Constitution.

The Europeans are not dealing with “a man.” They are dealing with the United States of America. The United States needed the most innocuous kind of cooperation from them. They denied the United States that cooperation. The implied argument is that their obligations within our alliance depend on whether they like the guy we chose as our president. “Sure, we’re allies…if we approve of who you elected.” Nope. We are not going to forget, and we’re not going to forgive. I’m indifferent to their excuses or their rationalizations. The United States of America needed their help and not very much help. They turned us down. That changes everything. And they aren’t going to like how it changes everything.
Gerard Baker@gerardtbaker

The casuistry here is remarkable. This is the simple reality: Like most Americans, most Europeans think this war is a bad idea.Their governments are being asked to take a huge risk by a man who has proved unreliable, volatile and intemperate over and over. Who would do that?
