@dontdelay A few years back @_StevenCameron was suggesting having a state pension which could be paid earlier than standard but with an actuarial adjustment. This would seem worth consideration, particularly should the SP age rise again.

In 1978, I read @StephenKing #TheShining and it's been my favourite novel since. But no longer. After 46 years and 2000+ novels, Chris Whitaker's #AlltheColoursoftheDark is my new all time favourite. Thank you @WhittyAuthor for this masterpiece - I and many others are in awe.

@David_J_Robbins OK fair point @David_J_Robbins - best indication from official ONS data published to date - and better than last month's. I do wonder how any NHS pay adjustments paid last July might impact. Not sure if these classed as bonuses or backpay or how ONS will treat them.

Don't agree with @_StevenCameron that 4.5% is the "best indication" of how much Triple-Locked State Pensions will rise next April. For earnings growth over the year to May-July to be that high, average weekly pay would have to rise by ~£11 in July after rising by just £2 in June. Is there any reason to expect that? (It will be more like 4% if the recent pattern of pay data continues.)
Actuarial Post@actuarialpost

Best indication yet of #pension #triplelock increase, @Aegon ...someone on the full new #statepension of £221.20 a week, this would equate to an increase of £9.95 to £231.15 a week. For those who reached state #pension before 6 April 2016 and who are on... tinyurl.com/bdcnp9b9
