@realityuk i swapped from Asus to msi and it was just switch back on and clean the Asus bloatware, have you tried any boot tools, like FalconFour ultimate boot CD, it has a "mini xp" and has helped me many times, hope you get sorted

Anyone who’s swapped motherboards know if a windows reinstall may be required or I could get away with keeping both my boots intact

Pro tip: never buy a gigabyte motherboard I’m now stuck with an obsolete brick for like 2 months, and that’s being generous to gigabytes RMA team
