Hamilton uses BIPOC to tell the story of white folks and completely ignores the rich history of the Indigenous peoples and the enslavement of Black people. I just can’t get behind it. So, what are some musical texts that centre BIPOC joy, and are written by BIPOC? #mypdrama /2

Drama teachers, currently we teach Lin Manuel Miranda’s texts, including Hamilton and In the Heights, so that students can use these for a Director’s Notebook task in MYP, however, Hamilton, with all of its magnificent features, doesn’t sit right with me. /1

This is so important to me - so many students don’t even realize that vocational training/Ausbildungen are even an option (and paid, at that - and some in Germany only require B1 German to start with).
