Mamdani proposes a pied-à-terre tax, which would essentially double the property tax for those with a second home valued over $5M in the city. This is a false promise. It's a lie. Taxing the rich never works. The government has a spending problem, not a revenue problem. When they use “tax the rich” as an excuse to increase spending, and then the rich leave, they will not scale back spending. Instead, the burden shifts to the middle class, until everyone is equally poor and government corruption thrives. Somehow through all of this, the government officials all get rich. Mamdani is selling a lie. Don't be stupid enough to fall for it.

#BREAKING Anthony Albanese has launched an "extraordinary" attack on US President Donald Trump. He said Trumps threat was "unbecoming of a US president" He added "I don't think it's appropriate to use language such as that from the President of the United States" Albo is just trying to burn all bridges with our biggest and greatest ally at this point. #Auspol

Hey Zohran - you smug, trust-fund socialist clown in a suit - happy Tax Day. You’re standing on a NYC street corner grinning like you just invented fairness, announcing your new pied-à-terre tax on luxury properties over $5 million owned by part-time residents. Your pitch? “Tax the rich” to fund: ~ Free childcare ~ Cleaner streets ~ Safer neighborhoods You keep ranting about targeting “the richest of the rich” and their empty penthouses. But here’s what your class-warrior script conveniently ignores: Most wealthy people did NOT inherit their money. They built it. 📊 Forbes data shows: 73% of U.S. billionaires are self-made 67% of billionaires globally are self-made Nearly 70% of new billionaires added in 2025 built their wealth from scratch 📊 For millionaires: Studies estimate 79–88% are self-made That means most of these people: Started middle class or poor Received little to no inheritance Built wealth through ambition, risk, and relentless work They didn’t get rich by whining about “equity” online. They got rich because they: Worked 80-hour weeks Took huge risks starting businesses Failed multiple times before succeeding Created products/services people actually wanted Hired thousands of workers Paid massive taxes already Invested heavily into NYC real estate and development They helped create the very economic engine that gives New Yorkers jobs. And now your genius solution is to punish them for succeeding? Let’s talk reality. What happens every time politicians “go after the rich”? The rich leave. They: ~ Move to Florida ~ Move to Texas ~ Restructure ownership ~ Shift assets elsewhere And they take with them: ~ Businesses ~ Jobs ~ Investment capital ~ Tax revenue New York is already bleeding high earners. Your policy accelerates that. What follows? ~ Luxury property values decline ~ Construction financing dries up ~ Brokers lose commissions ~ Development slows ~ The tax base shrinks And spoiler alert: You won’t collect anywhere near the $500 million you’re bragging about. Why? Because wealthy people have lawyers, accountants, and mobility. They adapt. Then when revenue falls short - as it always does - government comes looking for the next target. And suddenly “the rich” becomes: ~ Doctors ~ Small business owners ~ Tech workers ~ Families making $200K–$500K Then the middle class gets hammered. The poor get: ~ Worse services ~ Fewer jobs ~ Higher living costs This is the same failed socialist playbook every single time. You’re not Robin Hood. You’re the guy who eventually robs the man delivering your groceries. You promised to make NYC affordable for working people. And your strategy is chasing out the exact people funding the system? Brilliant. Keep smiling for the cameras while productive people pack U-Hauls. Because history already wrote the ending to this story: It ends with: ~ Empty storefronts ~ Higher taxes ~ Fewer jobs ~ A shrinking economy And politicians like you wondering why the city you “saved” looks like a ghost town. Clown.
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor

Happy Tax Day, New York. We’re taxing the rich.

@TendoXI Tax the rich, the rich leaves, takes their spending and the jobs they create with them. Middle class pays the price. It's not the action, it's the reaction and the consequences that they see. Just look at California and how many businesses has left to avoid taxes.

🚨 PRESIDENT TRUMP JUST SERVED THE COLDEST RESPONSE OF 2026 🔥 Reporter: “Iran is going to execute four more protesters — including the first woman protester. Mr. President, what do you tell Iran?” Trump: “Tell that to the Pope.” 💥 While a liberal Pope lectures America on Iran, Trump points straight at the real killers. No notes. Pure savage leadership. Imagine being so brainwashed — like so many Catholics are — that you’re **MAD** Trump is defending himself against a liberal Pope. You’re supposed to just sit there quietly and let the Pope play politics, attack him, and say NOTHING? When you can’t criticize your own religious leaders… **that’s a cult.** Trump called out the hypocrisy in one sentence. Peak based leadership. Who else is done with the double standard? Drop a 🔥 if you agree. #Trump2024 #MAGA #TellThatToThePope #LiberalPope

👀✝️A PONTIFF-SIZED MISTAKE? — It’s not often that this particular president admits a mistake. But that’s essentially what @realDonaldTrump did this afternoon, when he deleted that AI-generated post depicting himself as Christ the Healer. It’s not hard to see why. Take it from someone whose immediate and extended family is just packed with Catholic Trump voters -- I can tell you attacks on the Pope and pictures like this make them just recoil. I mean, we were taught that singer Madonna was bad bc she wore a rosary as a fashions statement. Imagine what Catholics are thinking about these posts and comments. Of course Trump (smartly) deleted the pic, and says he didn't mean to suggest he was Jesus. But the walk-back comes as he's also bleeding support with Catholics who backed him by a 12-point margin in 2024. Read my latest (& Subscribe!): rachaelbade.substack.com/p/why-trump-de…

It was right and responsible that the President deleted the post. I'm impressed he took responsibility for it, as I doubted—and daresay continue to doubt—that he personally made and posted it. But the buck stops with POTUS, so good on him for taking it down and moving on.
