Functionally you just can’t guard Luka the same way you guard Shai but RS Shai is just a much more precise scorer and leads a better RS offense.
The playoffs seem to trend towards Luka being generally a more effective player but maybe that’s team specific?

They killed their whole argument when they picked LeBron over AR. LeBron is 41, doesn't play defense, and struggles playing off the ball to Luka. This seems like either an agenda convo, they don't understand ball, or don't watch enough Laker games to have the discussion.

I think this is true & pretty much where I stand.
What’s funny is, in the last 4 games (so even if we remove Wemby’s G1 masterpiece):
SGA: 27p-9a on 57% TS
Wemby: 25p-4a on 61% TS
& both are getting the kitchen sink thrown at them whenever they get within 20 ft of the rim.

I don’t mind if people walk away from this series feeling like Wemby is the best in the world, what’s undeniable however is how far he still has to go offensively. The lack of polish in his offensive game is absolutely glaring. When we’re comparing him to other stars and all-time greats and highlight the gap he has on them defensively, it’s also important to acknowledge the gap might be just as big for him to make up on the other end too.

@PurpGoldLakers Robert williams is a good big who can protect the rim and be a lob threat but we can't give him the starting job. That has to be someone else better, he is very prone to injuries.

All these things are true:
1. Shai has not played as well as expected in this series
2. Shai has outplayed Wemby and been the best player in 3 of 5 games this series (G2, G3, G5)
3. I’d say Wemby has (by a slight margin) been the best player in this series overall so far

The Lakers are reportedly NOT planning on making massive roster changes this offseason:
