The Brooklyn Nets have named Makar Gevorkian assistant general manager. Gevorkian was elevated to the role following two seasons as vice president of basketball operations alignment and strategic planning.

Sources: The Chicago Bulls will hire Acie Law IV as VP of Player Personnel. Law was Director of Player Personnel for the Brooklyn Nets. He’s been Director of Amateur Scouting for the OKC Thunder and won a championship with them in 2025. Prior, he was a Sacramento Kings scout.

Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke has passed away at 29 years old. Clarke was a first-round draft pick in 2019 and was an All-Rookie First Team selection. He averaged 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in seven NBA seasons for Memphis. Thoughts and prayers to his loved ones 🙏🏼

Toronto Raptors All-Star forward Brandon Ingram had surgery to address ongoing right heel pain. A heel spur was removed by Dr. Martin O’Malley at New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery. Ingram is expected to fully recover and be ready for training camp in September, team says.

Sources: The Trail Blazers interviewed Jared Dudley for their head coaching position. Dudley is the lead assistant coach for the Nuggets. He was also an assistant coach for the Mavericks. He spent 14 NBA seasons with the Bobcats, Suns, Clippers, Bucks, Wizards, Nets, and Lakers.

Hornets coach Charles Lee signed a contract extension. He led them to a 25-win improvement, the largest win improvement in franchise history. Charlotte had the top net rating (+10.5) since January 1, ranking first in offensive rating (120.7) and fifth in defensive rating (110.2).

Atlanta Hawks coaching associate Conner Varney is joining the Butler Bulldogs to reunite with coach Ronald Nored, league sources told @hoopshype. Varney spent three seasons in Atlanta with coach Quin Snyder and worked for him as an assistant video coordinator for the Utah Jazz.
