May, Pallante, Leahy all are possible deadline trade candidates if they pitch well enough and have the value

This isn’t much of a surprise. The Cardinals were always going to give Pallante every opportunity to reestablish himself as a starter, and the Kyle Leahy experiment is something they’ll want to continue evaluating at the major league level. I fully expect to see guys like Dobbins and Fitts get opportunities to start throughout the season, with a chance to stick in the rotation if they perform well. Mathews could be another name to watch for a spot start at some point, depending on how things unfold.

He’s only 27 so maybe it’s for the future of this rotation, maybe to bolster trade value🤷🏻‍♂️ that’s my guess at least

You also have limited resources. A high level guard and center is going to be really expensive and take up the resources that we do have. There's gonna be money for that and that's about it.

Ben is going to build thru high school kids and development. He's going to use the portal when needed but you are most likely not going to be adding more than 2-3 portal guys per year. He's building a lasting program.
