Joni Askola@joni_askola

The world crossed a terrifying threshold yesterday when Elon Musk officially became the first trillionaire in human history. This insane milestone is a symptom of a broken system, proving that the West must radically reform how it tackles wealth inequality before democracy is completely erased. No human being should ever possess this level of power, particularly an unelected one. Musk has weaponized his massive fortune to dominate strategic state contracts, buy political influence, and control social media discourse. While his personal instabilities and toxic rhetoric make him uniquely hazardous, the core problem is structural. No single individual, no matter how wise or well-intentioned, should ever have the financial leverage to override the collective will of the public. The ethical failure of this concentrated wealth is staggering. Musk possesses the resources to eliminate massive global issues overnight with a minuscule portion of his fortune, yet he actively chooses to do nothing. Worse, his interference in politics and dismantling of USAID have stripped resources from the world's poorest, contributing to hundreds of thousands of deaths worldwide. Musk is securing his place in the history books, but it will be as a warning sign rather than an inspiration. A true democracy cannot coexist with a trillionaire class. If Western societies do not implement strict regulations to cap this absurd concentration of power, we are abandoning the concept of a democratic and fair society altogether. He is the definition of a Bond villain

This is dangerous for Europe. We should act super fast & together. Our best chance is all hands on board to accelerate @MistralAI, the only European company that has models on nearly the same level than the US and Chinese leaders. All European national sovereign funds should immediately put 1B EUR each into Mistral and make sure the company always stays European (not just French). And as soon as reasonably possible, we should start using those models day to day for work, first in governments and state companies, then elsewhere. The only way to win is to stay independent and own the tech ourselves.
Anthropic@AnthropicAI

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

Weg mit all diesen 27 kleinen, separaten Armeen.

It’s beyond pathetic that Europe didn’t develop any 5th generation fighter jet. Can’t expect anyone facing the Russian threat (who has access to the F35) to buy their 4th generation jets in the 2020s anymore
Joni Askola@joni_askola

When looking at the dominance of the American F-35 in European hangars, continental critics often blame individual nations for choosing foreign hardware over European options. The uncomfortable reality is that Europe has nobody to blame but itself, and by completely failing to produce an indigenous 5th generation fighter, it left frontline nations with no choice. Smaller countries directly bordering Russia cannot afford to gamble on a deficit in the skies. When nations like Finland, with a population of just 5,6 million, procure a fighter fleet, those airframes must remain qualitatively superior to Russia’s for decades. The F-35 was quite literally the only option on the market guaranteed to maintain a decisive edge over Moscow and Beijing well into the mid-century. Current European 4th generation platforms like the Rafale or Gripen are already facing a narrowing operational advantage today, and their long-term development potential is heavily capped, leaving them poorly equipped for the highly contested airspace of the 2040s and 2050s. Furthermore, relying on European alternatives introduces severe sovereign risks. None of the current continental jets outside of the French Rafale are ITAR-free, which means Washington still holds a defense export veto over them. Turning fully to France is an equally massive gamble, given Paris’ history of low aid to Ukraine and the looming domestic political instability that threatens to disrupt its defense alignment after 2027. The industrial outlook remains equally bleak. Massive capital and collective expertise are needed to build a viable 6th generation platform, yet the ending of the Franco-German FCAS program proves Europe is still paralyzed by industrial infighting. While the British-Italian-Japanese program shows some promise, it is not a purely European endeavor. Without immediate, unified, and unprecedented financial mobilization, the United States is poised to entirely outpace the continent on the 6th generation, leaving a fragmented Europe trapped in a dependency loop of its own making

Can anyone explain this to me, please? Tulsi Gabbard is making a baseless claim, accusing her own government of creating so-called “dangerous biolabs” - something that has been repeatedly proven false and is part of Russian propaganda. Yet many people in the U.S. seem fine with it, and some even support these attacks on their own country. P.S. This so-called “biolabs” narrative has been debunked by numerous independent sources, and even basic tools like Grok and ChatGPT. You don’t even need investigative journalism here - you can just read the 4-page "document" which is mostly graphics, that she shared.
DNI Tulsi Gabbard@DNIGabbard

Today, I’m releasing never before seen intelligence revealing new evidence of past US government funding for more than 120 biolabs in over 30 countries, including Ukraine. In support of President Trump‘s Executive Order to end federal funding of dangerous gain of function research around the world, and increase transparency and accountability, ODNI will continue working with partners across the Administration to identify where these labs are, what pathogens they contain, and what “research” is being conducted. odni.gov/index.php/news…

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, March 9, 2022: - Russia has previously invented such blatant lies. About the alleged existence of a chemical and biological weapons development program in the USA. Or in Ukraine under US control. It is precisely Russia that has such a program. Our goal is to dispel the disinformation that it is trying to spread. And to tell the world that not only does it have this program, but there are also examples of the use of such weapons. And we must remain vigilant about this. Director of the US National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, June 12, 2026: - Today, I am making public information about the long-term funding by the US government of more than 120 biolaboratories in more than 30 countries. Including in Ukraine, which carries risks in connection with the current war between Russia and Ukraine. Earlier, our intelligence community already warned that dangerous pathogens are likely stored in Ukrainian biolaboratories funded by America. Information about the very existence, history of creation, location and funding of these biolaboratories was deliberately hushed up by very influential people. Who assured that such biolaboratories do not exist in nature. And everyone who said otherwise was called a foreign agent and a traitor to America.
