Let me help rephrase for you Bernie. Need a loan for college so you can party for a semester and drop out? Taxpayers will loan you money for it. Need an SBA loan for your business ? Taxpayers will guarantee it. For a house ? Taxpayers will guarantee it. And local gov will give you money for your first down payment ! Get sick or are in an accident and you can’t afford your deductible, insurance company denied prescribed care or are uninsured ? You are on your own 😤 Let me add Bernie, the one debt not a single one of us will ever pay off till the day we die ? Our health insurance premiums And before you go in and on about single payer, ask @claudeai to take a look at your proposed Single Payer legislation. You want the Sec of HHS to run it. You can’t have a political appointee run an apolitical position And you expect every provider and doctor to accept whatever rate is set by Medicare. Big hospitals don’t know their costs. They couldn’t do a BOM for any procedure. They have negligible transparency. If they don’t know their costs, and you don’t know their costs, how is it possible for taxpayers, caregivers and patients to get a fair deal ? And the concept of “every other country does it “ ignores the fact that they all converted decades and decades ago, long before you and your peers allowed the extreme vertical integration we face now. Which leads to the question. @BernieSanders , why have you not advocated for the Break Up Big Medicine Bill ?
Bernie Sanders@BernieSanders

Health care? "You're on your own." Housing? "Nothing we can do." Grocery prices? "You're out of luck." $200 billion for another war? "No problem!" Americans—Democrats, Republicans, independents—are SICK AND TIRED of endless wars. We need to invest here at home.

🚨 Do you understand what UBS just did.. they locked $469 million in a real estate fund and told investors they can't have their money back for up to 3 years.. they're calling it a "withdrawal halt".. it has another name.. here's why this matters.. in June 2007, Bear Stearns froze two of their hedge funds.. told investors the same thing.. "temporary.. market conditions.. we'll sort it out.." 14 months later, Lehman Brothers collapsed and the entire global financial system went with it.. the "gate" on a fund is a confession.. it means UBS looked at their real estate portfolio, looked at how many people want out, and realised they don't have the liquidity to pay them.. commercial real estate has been quietly bleeding since COVID.. office vacancy at record highs.. WeWork gone.. buildings worth half what they were.. UBS just confirmed what the market has been pretending isn't true.. someone always knows before you do.. trust me.. and when they stop you from taking your own money, they've already made their decision.

CHLORAMPHENICOL IS BANNED IN THE US BECAUSE IT CAN CAUSE FATAL APLASTIC ANEMIA IN HUMANS BUT DON’T WORRY, THE US HAS INCREASED BEEF IMPORTS FROM ARGENTINA —WITHOUT IMPLEMENTING MANDATORY COUNTRY OF ORIGIN LABELING REQUIREMENTS!
BowTiedMara@BowTiedMara

China 🇨🇳 rejected 22 tons of meat from Argentina 🇦🇷 after finding chloramphenicol, an antibiotic banned for human consumption for 30 years, and suspended exports from one of Argentina's main meatpacking plants.

SOURCE: The Milwaukee Brewers have reached a pre-agreement with 13-year-old Dominican prospect Maximiliano Feliz for a $2.0 millón bonus The deal would represent the largest bonus the organization is expect to hand out in the 2030 internacional class. “I see in him the same type of athlete Leo De Vries was at 13 years old. He’s simply impressive.”

A Danish scientist counted bugs on the same windshield, same road, same conditions, every year for 20 years. By year 20, 80% of the insects were gone. In Germany, a group of volunteer bug scientists did something even bigger. They set traps in 63 nature reserves, not farms, protected land, and weighed everything they caught. Same traps, same method, 27 years straight. The total weight of flying bugs dropped 76%. In midsummer, when insects should be peaking, it was 82% gone. A follow-up in 2020 and 2021 checked again. No recovery. In the UK, they literally ask drivers to count splats on their license plates after a trip. The 2024 count came back 63% lower than just 2021. Three years. A 2020 study pulled together 166 surveys from 1,676 locations around the world. Land insects are disappearing at roughly 9% every ten years. Here’s where it hits your plate. About 75% of the food crops we grow depend on insects to pollinate them, everything from apples to almonds to coffee. One 2025 study modeled what a full pollinator collapse would look like: food prices jump 30%, the global economy takes a $729 billion hit, and the world loses 8% of its Vitamin A supply. Birds are already feeling it. North America has lost 2.9 billion birds since 1970. A study from just weeks ago found half of 261 bird species on the continent are now in serious decline, and the losses are speeding up in farming regions. The birds that eat insects lost 2.9 billion. The birds that don’t eat insects? They gained 26 million. That ratio tells the whole story. One of the German researchers behind the 27-year study drives a Land Rover. He says it has the aerodynamics of a refrigerator. It stays clean now.
