@aaayandev i just saying that im making/creating things now, coding doesn't feel like the right verb to use. but maybe the idea of coding will just mean building things that run via code. not really sure

I don’t manually type code anymore and I’m questioning if saying “I’m coding the whole day” even a true statement anymore… ? “I’m building the whole day”? Literally last summer I was coding by hand and was assisted with AI; so much has changed in a year! . . . (Btw from my peak intelligence I have used the semi colon, no AI 😭💔)

there are so many works of art from different cultures/languages that are incredible but can't spread worldwide due to the language barrier. I grew up watching Attack on Titan, and I can't imagine my life without it and have never discovered anime. With AI and translation, we have finally built the tower of babbel. We can finally easily and cheaply translate other works of art and dive deep into other cultures and understand one another better

so true. ppl are biased towards the workflows they alr know - e.g. somebody who's only worked in a formal corporate agile environment is going to be biased towards agent workflows that mimic that. imo part of agentic engineering is to think beyond proven (human-driven) experiences and always be willing to rethink the foundations of your workflow

Today agentic engineering is as much using agents to develop software and manage systems, as it is observing, debugging, and improving the process of developing software and operating systems with those agents. Resist the inertial urge to just accept the first workflows to ‘just work.’ You won’t land on the most efficient possible workflow by accident (or maybe ever, it’s a moving target.)

i heard from an inside source that a major ai lab is releasing a model in the coming weeks to months that will top every major benchmark. it will be trained on data up to a certain point, have a record number of parameters, and use state of the art post-training techniques. that's all that i'm allowed to say 🤐

You don’t have to love Elon Musk to recognize what this headline says about us. A country that spends more time criticizing wealth creation than encouraging it sends a clear message to builders: your success is tolerated, not celebrated. Canada should be the best place in the world to build ambitious companies. Headlines like this make us look like we’re not quite ready for that.

the trace - one person's full ai session, with the intent and everything that was tried, broke, and actually worked. a chat message is just the lossy residue of that. so multiplayer looks less like everyone typing at one agent in a thread, and more like each person's traces becoming shared and queryable across the team, so you build on what someone already figured out instead of re-explaining it in chat.

hot take: ai slack is the wrong form factor. ai collaboration has been single-threaded for a reason - one person, one agent, full context, a high-fidelity trace. the moment you move it into a shared chat you flatten it into messages and lose the observability. multiplayer ai is real, but the unit isn't the chat message.

so many engineers trying to manufacture taste by adding random movements/effects to their slop designs. its not taste if whatever effect youre adding makes no sense/doesnt contribute to an overarching vibe youre curating. it just feels gimmicky
