New episode of Perfect Prey: A Coercive Control Podcast. I’m joined by David Challen, author of The Unthinkable, to explore coercive control through the eyes of a child—how fear, humiliation, and psychological domination become normalized inside families, even without visible violence. This conversation speaks to clinicians, legal professionals, protective parents, and adult child survivors seeking clarity around coercive control and its long-term impact. 🎧 Listen here: open.spotify.com/episode/1KFXlE…

What are the character traits of predators? What are trauma reactions of victims-survivors? What are the traumatic implications for children suffering cc (child abuse)? And how all too often family court professionals miss it or diminish or dismiss it.

I asked for a simple family call to address half-truths and the way the ex has spoken to our son. His response? Rage. Dragging up accusations from years ago. Painting himself as perfect. Reminding me I’m “terrible.” This is the reality of trying to “co-parent” with a perpetrator. Every attempt to communicate turns into a weapon. Every concern is twisted. Every request is used as an excuse to attack. Family court still pushes the myth of co-parenting at all costs. But what they don’t understand is that forcing victims into ongoing negotiations with their abusers is not co-parenting. It is court-ordered coercive control. You cannot co-parent with a perpetrator. All you can do is survive their ongoing abuse.

Coercive control doesn’t always leave bruises, but it leaves deep scars. The tragedy of Jennifer Dulos reminds us why awareness and legislation like #JennifersLaw are critical.” 🎧 Listen to my conversation with Rich Cohen on Perfect Pray: [ youtu.be/wnNPdC-s16U?si… ]

It was never about you not being “good enough.” It was about control, blame, and keeping you small so they didn’t have to change. #DomesticAbuseAwareness

27 lawsuits have been filed by victims against P*rnhub since 2020 — this includes class actions on behalf of tens of thousands of child victims. They incurred over $100 million in legal fees so far. P*rnhub lost Visa, Mastercard, Discover and PayPal + all mainstream advertisers. Over 91% of the content on the site was taken down, and the company value dropped by over 65-75%. The whole parent company was sold as a distressed asset. They paid 1.8 million to the US DOJ for criminal charges of intentionally profiting from trafficking. (More criminal prosecution should be coming soon.) 👆👆This is a strategy we can use to stop corporate traffickers —Increase RISK and eliminate profitability. Change the financial dynamics to disincentivize profiting from sexual crime. Make consequences outweigh any benefits they get by maintaining the status quo. Make them pay to the full extent of the law. Severe financial and criminal consequences will deter future abusers.

I dunno man, whenever I see charities having to do skydives to raise money for their already vital services… it just makes me feel like society has failed. Humans have to literally throw themselves out of an aeroplane to raise a few grand to keep vital services going for a few more months, that should be centrally funded anyway? It’s just… wrong.

Abuse often doesn’t “look like” what we expect. Many survivors only recognize it after validation from others. #DomesticAbuseAwareness

Who exactly is coming to #familycourt ? It's not high income families, in fact, it's largely families who are struggling to stay afloat. Meanwhile, the judges who make lifelong decisions impacting these families are from the most wealthy and privileged backgrounds

@CultExpert The BITE Model is powerful and I use it when I discuss children living under the regime of a predatory parent…like a cult leader.

I didn’t expect the Netflix documentary, Titan: The OceanGate Submersible Disaster, on the sub that blew up trying to visit the Titanic, to be about a cult, but it was. A corporate cult. When I watched it, I saw every red flag in my BITE Model of Authoritarian Control. Now, the official investigation confirms it: the Titan tragedy was preventable. The final U.S. Coast Guard report points to systemic failures: flawed design, no third-party safety certification, ignored maintenance issues, and a toxic internal culture where dissent was punished. The CEO, Stockton Rush, dismissed expert warnings and promoted magical thinking over science. He believed if you thought it was safe, it would be. That’s not leadership. That’s cultic. And this isn’t just about a submarine. We’re seeing the same patterns today in AI and tech: high control, no oversight, and whistleblowers treated like threats. If you want to understand how mind control works, even outside religion or politics, this is a textbook case. Have you seen the documentary? What did you notice?
