@davideramon

A wondering wonderer. Can probably find me close to the water, book in hand, with a couple of beach dogs and my girl.

@unnamedbutalone You sure about that? We built them for our sports. We’ve got the coin to modify, if you’ve not noticed.

Fans and officials being refused visas to travel. Teams being treated poorly. Players and officials being asked to talk in English. Hydration breaks being introduced to accommodate advertisers and wreck game rhythm. USA fans: Look at how beautiful our stadiums are! Does Europe or any other nation have stadiums that are this beautiful. If the cost of having such stadiums is selling your soul to commercialism and losing your humanity, then I hope no nation ever has stadiums like these. This has been heartbreaking on so many levels. #WorldCup #WorldCupStadiums #2026WorldCup

Some of these stadiums really show how soft the yanks are. Bit of rain? "Close the roof 😞" What's that, you're cold? Grow up. Since when is a stadium supposed to be like an air-conditioned sitting room?

@JackDunc1 It ok with stoppage time due to fake injury. Leave the diving to Greg Luganus and the real sports to Yanks. Pffft

Widespread boos for the hydration break midway through the half. For a game indoors, played at 22C. Crazy new ruling that kills the momentum. Please make the pause stop. #ENG #ENGCRO

@twill_94 It’s one week in and you’ve still not been curious enough to find out who calls the shots. You’d rather live w 5 min injury stoppage when someone gets kicked in the ankle. Silly git.

It’s 21 degrees in the stadium and the Americans are making them do a hydration break so their TV coverage can have an advert… Disgraceful

The Hydration Breaks™️ are just another thing for Americans. Their attention spans cannot last a full 45 minutes of football, so they have to commercialise absolutely everything. Notice how they are 3 minutes long? Enough for ad slots. They have a sponsor for a “countdown to kick off” as well, as if it’s a concert or something. I remember even the fireworks in Disney World had sponsors for them 😂

One of the worst things about this World Cup, and there’s a fairly lengthy list, is having to listen to American’s appalling takes on our game. It’s not surprising from a country where their sports reward failure but stuff like this just highlights how backwards they really are.

FIFA World Rankings - Italy #12 - Denmark #20 - Nigeria #26 - Poland #35 All of these teams didn’t qualify. There are 48 teams in the World Cup Having the best teams in the biggest tournament makes sense. The qualifying process is dumb

I saw a tweet that the US can host all the World Cup matches in different stadiums without using the same stadium twice. How many stadiums do they have in total to be able to pull that off?

British stadiums are designed to create an intimate and intimidating atmosphere with a wall of sound and crowd close to the action, its particular to the character of premiership football. They are also filled for every game.
Kriss Berg, etc.@KrissBergTweets

Found myself curious why euros are so blown away by our stadiums. This is the largest stadium in the English Premier League for arguably its most famous franchise. Looks like you stepped on a marshmallow. Seats 75k.

I never thought I'd write this, but the World Cup in the U.S. looks almost exactly like all those old stereotypes about... the World Cup in Russia. 1. A terrible, lifeless atmosphere around the stadiums and in the so-called fan zones. Ticket prices are absurdly high, and security is everywhere — there's no getting around it. Even after kickoff, tickets for low-interest matches are still going for $500–900. Only 29 out of 104 matches have sold out! 2. The stadiums are in the middle of nowhere. Nearly everyone is complaining about nightmare logistics, with shuttle buses from the nearest metro stations costing up to $100. Only the most determined fans are willing to fight through all that. 3. It feels like a heavily controlled security zone. Armed police are everywhere, checking absolutely everything. You've probably seen the footage of players being searched. Security screening is extremely strict. And then there's the American obsession with stuffing advertising down your throat, forcing players into breaks to "drink water" while commercials run. Virgil van Dijk has already said live on air that it's nonsense, and hearing anything even mildly undiplomatic from a player is almost unheard of. In short, FIFA and MAGA have turned what used to be a great football festival into a bloated commercial spectacle full of Powerade ad breaks. And honestly, it's just sad.

@nsemeke33 According to Google, there are 75 stadiums in the United States that will seat at least 60,000 people. This does not include race tracks, which are enormous. The racetrack at Daytona will hold four of the largest stadiums in the country within its infield area.
