The Hydration Breaks™️ are just another thing for Americans. Their attention spans cannot last a full 45 minutes of football, so they have to commercialise absolutely everything. Notice how they are 3 minutes long? Enough for ad slots. They have a sponsor for a “countdown to kick off” as well, as if it’s a concert or something. I remember even the fireworks in Disney World had sponsors for them 😂

One of the worst things about this World Cup, and there’s a fairly lengthy list, is having to listen to American’s appalling takes on our game. It’s not surprising from a country where their sports reward failure but stuff like this just highlights how backwards they really are.

British stadiums are designed to create an intimate and intimidating atmosphere with a wall of sound and crowd close to the action, its particular to the character of premiership football. They are also filled for every game.

I never thought I'd write this, but the World Cup in the U.S. looks almost exactly like all those old stereotypes about... the World Cup in Russia. 1. A terrible, lifeless atmosphere around the stadiums and in the so-called fan zones. Ticket prices are absurdly high, and security is everywhere — there's no getting around it. Even after kickoff, tickets for low-interest matches are still going for $500–900. Only 29 out of 104 matches have sold out! 2. The stadiums are in the middle of nowhere. Nearly everyone is complaining about nightmare logistics, with shuttle buses from the nearest metro stations costing up to $100. Only the most determined fans are willing to fight through all that. 3. It feels like a heavily controlled security zone. Armed police are everywhere, checking absolutely everything. You've probably seen the footage of players being searched. Security screening is extremely strict. And then there's the American obsession with stuffing advertising down your throat, forcing players into breaks to "drink water" while commercials run. Virgil van Dijk has already said live on air that it's nonsense, and hearing anything even mildly undiplomatic from a player is almost unheard of. In short, FIFA and MAGA have turned what used to be a great football festival into a bloated commercial spectacle full of Powerade ad breaks. And honestly, it's just sad.

@nsemeke33 According to Google, there are 75 stadiums in the United States that will seat at least 60,000 people. This does not include race tracks, which are enormous. The racetrack at Daytona will hold four of the largest stadiums in the country within its infield area.
