This is the third time I’ve experienced prolonged influenza symptoms. I’ve had brain fog and severe fatigue for about four weeks now. I need to cut down on work for a while. I’ve been playing games and trying to figure out what makes them tick. I played Resident Evil 3 Remake and Requiem again in first-person mode. I liked Requiem even less this time. 😮‍💨

After 3 years of pouring my heart and soul into Horizonite, I’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to stop development effective immediately. The grind, the bugs, the endless scope creep... it’s all become too much. Instead, I’ve decided to pivot to something more meaningful with my life. I’m deleting the repo, burning the assets, and going full time as an OnlyFans foot model. Thank you to everyone who supported the game. It was fun while it lasted. 🫡 Hope you guys can keep supporting me in my new job.

@BecomingCaptain Because of the 3D tilts the M and N aren’t immediately obvious so my eyes would probably skip it not knowing what it said. The E also isn’t immediately obvious due to its unique design. I give it points for being cool but take points away for readability.

@dev_ineap Don't worry, I'm thinking of jumping ship after this game. Cuz of whatever Unity did before. Even assets these days are going scummy putting in a license instead of a one time purchase like Text Animator.

Almost went crazy with a bug about coroutines today. Like it was legit stopping on any kinds of yields. The script was working fine on another game object. On this game object, I isolated everything: timescale, outside influence, left the script alone by itself. How I fixed it? I did a one frame yield proxy coroutine before calling my other coroutine. You see it was being called OnEnable. And upon doing some research, on a very rare case could be ran before the object has been initialized by Unity. It still crazy that it works absolutely fine with any other game objects using this script. But this specific game object really wanted to troll me today. 🫠

@RelicAbyss Okay, once after 10+ years really isn’t bad at all. It’s so easy to see Unity in a bad light after hearing so many complaints. I forget sometimes that it’s actually a really good and competent engine. But yeah, that was a crazy hard bug to debug, good job!

@dev_ineap Haha well it only happened to me once after 10+ years of using Unity so it's not that bad. But it's bugs like these that are super hard to debug cuz you know you're right, you just have to prove it. 🤣

@Grambitious You were the first person to ever commission me for art all the way back in Dreams and I’ll never forget that. It was a wonderful experience.

I’m using public domain art from the 1800s, and commissioning real artists for anything else I need. All the art in Cryptica was chosen specifically with intention. My world lore is too important to just throw this shit in the mix.

@break_pixe That’s awesome, I’m jealous! There’s been several times where I wished I was using high-res art in my game instead of pixel art, but I locked in pixel art fairly early on so I’m stuck with it for this game at least!

Having a blast making new art. I changed from pixel art to high-res art, and I just wish I had made the switch sooner. Pixel art is very cool, and I really like games that use it, but I feel like I’m just not cut out to make good stuff with it. I feel it requires a certain level of precision that I don’t have. Letting myself be messy with watercolor-style brushes just works way better for me. 😅 #gamedev #krita

Did some adjustments to the popup bubble when approaching a character to be more subtle, I felt like it was way too detailed for such a small bubble. Once you talk you can see the detail of the character's face on the dialogue UI. Do you think it is better? 🤔 #kickstarter #gamedev
