The way the English media are going on about the altitude at the Azteca you’d think the game was being played on the fucking moon

@TFC5ever Hate to say it but really think it’s on the attacking personnel We are the team that produces among the most chances at this World Cup & this has never been an issue under Jesse Marsch numbers-wise We just crash out on the final third constantly it’s frustrating

@dilcps John Herdman isn't an offensive tactician and neither is Marsch, so Idk if I'd put it down to better attackers. Our goal scoring is down with Marsch in charge, we haven't improved, but we have better players now.

As for the CanMNT attack question: That’s legit been a weekly narrative for years It’s a tiresome convo to have because it’s too obvious that Canada just needs better attackers Difference is that more eyes are seeing how much Canada lack finishing

Scrolling through my tl & I really think I’m right in not overly getting invested in “what went wrong” Because there’s a lot of misdirected anger being thrown just for the sake of getting angry Particularly towards Alphonso Davies… injuries happen in sports get over it

@ASAPZain04 It is more than just Ontario but yeah the gist of it (at least to my interpretation) is to make it more than about putting the semi-pro guys & suddenly have them become pros We need to have these teams further develop their academies & have them self-sustain themselves that way

@dilcps I think our priority should be to develop the CPL into an actual breeding ground for Canadian talent, not just a grassroots league out of Ontario, this league should be nationwide in scale

7.5/10 overall performance for Canada at this World Cup 🇨🇦 Pros: • First points • First win • First knockout win • Set a new standard for a program that needed one Cons: • Injuries ultimately hurt us • Need better finishing overall • Inexperience against the elite teams

@MapleGlazed_ It’s unfortunate our best ever player up to now is injury prone, but that’s the reality we have to circumnavigate (both for Bayern for you guys & Canada)

Most mature thing Alphonso Davies has done in a Canada shirt 🇨🇦❤️ The last time he forced himself onto the pitch for Canada, he suffered his ACL injury Canada has a lot to show in the future & we need Phonzie at his fittest, & not sacrifice his career further in a short instant

Alphonso Davies speaks with OneSoccer's Kristian Jack about why he missed CanMNT 🇨🇦 vs. Morocco 🇲🇦 🎙️ "Jesse asked if I feel 100%... and I told him no, to be honest. "I don't want to be a burden on the team or on the pitch not giving my all... but it's an injury where you can't take any risk."

Malgré avoir répondu aux questions des médias pendant plus de 30m, Yassine Bounou a quand même pris un moment pour un petit message aux montréalais, à la communauté 🇲🇦, et pour tous les Canadiens. #Classe 🫶🏼 #Morocco #Canada #FWC

Luc de Fougerolles had a fantastic tournament but he had a few moments too. His foul led to the Morocco 1-0 goal. Didn’t need to go in the way he did, had teammates supporting him. Marsch mentioned it post match. Swiss goals were an issue too. He’s 20. He’ll be around for a while

@MJama22 This always was the case, & in fact I’m surprised we had the kind of first half we did Moroccan football is just in another level on all ends not just in men’s soccer

@dilcps Hours later after decompressing,I’ve come to the conclusion that beating that Moroccan side was always going to be a massive ask without our best player and our best midfielder. I’ve come to terms with that.

An injured Alphonso Davies is less of a story than a very underwhelming Jonathan David and Tajon Buchanan. Canada needed them to be so much better.
