@mullallyelaine @IrishTimesOpEd They may change their tune after tomorrow. Hopefully people will get out and support the fuel protests
English

@IrishTimesOpEd Oh we believe it, the Irish Government will look after anyone but their own!
English

Harry McGee: Believe it or not, few EU countries are offering more relief on energy costs than Ireland irishtimes.com/opinion/2026/0…
English

@rtenews But they are in a position to help in a meaningful way. They choose not to. 60 to 65% of fuel costs going straight to the government coffers. Thats criminal. Pure and simple, and no amount of soundbites or deflecting will change that fact.
English

Tánaiste Simon Harris has said the energy crisis we are living through now 'is the worst the world has ever seen'

@Nick_Delehanty The problem is no decent alternatives to govern. That lineup would bankrupt the country, and with their DEI policies, the blokes in dresses would be running the civil service, there would be free sex changes for everyone and our borders would be open to all. No thank you

@IrishTimesOpEd 1. Open Ireland up to oil exploration.
2. Reopen peat harvesting.
3. Remove carbon taxes.
4. Ban the Green party.
English

@Panthero84 100%, and we may just bend over and take it. Hopefully, the Liverpool board will react quicker than Utd did
English

@Panthero84 @Oliver_Forbes1 Hes bang on the money. The French would have Paris half burned to the ground.
Ah shur... be grand
English

@Oliver_Forbes1 Most factual tweet of the day Ollie. At least let us have our moan in peace
English

The thing I can’t get over is how vocal people will be on X about their distain for this govt, yet nothing is ever done. No riots. Nothing akin to the yellow vests or French farmer protests. The fighting Irish? I think not. The take it up the hole Irish and complain? Yes.
Adrian Flynn@Panthero84
40 million handshake there whilst Irish people sleep on the streets and live in poverty. What a bunch of tosspots.
English

@Shauns_Aviation 4 planes flying in unison over south wexford today around 4pm. Not showing on flight radar either. 🤔 Anyone else see them ?
English

@diskin_john Figured they were Air Force flying like that
English

@HMcEntee Ireland steadfast solidarity you say.....
Read the comments. If you find one positive one, Ill be stupified.
You haven't a clue what the Irish people think

After careful consideration, the club have made the tough but necessary decision to change our lawn mower to a cheaper alternative due to the ongoing Diesel prices
Pictured below is our new alternative option to a tractor and mower alongside Charlie Rowe

BREAKING: A key witness in case that saw Garda Sean Shields banned from driving after chasing scramblers was himself before the courts - over a stolen motorbike.
Officers are understood to be outraged over this with some saying “this country is a joke.”
irishmirror.ie/news/irish-new…
English

@Tomejones2 @OffgridIreland So, by your logic, a garda chasing a drunk driver slows down because the driver is driving at 90k on an 80k road. 10 mins later, same drunk driver crashes head on into some poor innocent family and wipes them out, but thats ok, because the garda stayed within the speed limit. 🙄
English

@OffgridIreland You can not break the law to enforce the law
How limited is you mind to not understand this
Reckless Garda driving is as much a threat to public safety as any scrambler
English

🚨 Absolute madness in Dublin courts today. A Garda with 6 years service, no priors, gets a 2-year driving ban + €500 fine for "dangerous driving"... while chasing two masked, helmetless, no-plate scrambler thugs who were wheelieing through traffic, flipping the finger at cops, and endangering kids on their way to school.
He followed them into a cul-de-sac after they weaved through heavy mid-morning traffic on the North Circular Road.
His car mounted the kerb and hit a cone. No one hurt. Scramblers got away. But GSOC complaint → full prosecution. Judge says he proved "dangerous driving" even though the Garda was in full control and just trying to do his job. Meanwhile, remember Grace Lynch?
The 16-year-old girl mowed down and killed by a scrambler in Finglas just months ago? The same "scourge" these bikes represent the ones Gardaí are sick of scraping bodies off the road from.
Drugs, guns, burglaries, pure lawlessness. Grace’s Law is finally kicking in this week to seize and destroy them… but this is the message we send our police?
Why on earth would ANY Garda bother chasing criminals anymore?
Risk your career, your licence, your future just so some joyriding thug on an illegal death machine can laugh at you and escape?
The courts tie their hands, the ombudsman hunts them for doing what the public begs them to do, and innocent people like Grace pay the ultimate price.
This isn’t justice. This is why Dublin feels lawless. Gardaí are out there every shift dealing with 4-5 scrambler calls while the system punishes the good guys.
Enough. Support the cops doing the dangerous work or watch the chaos get worse.
