I’ve spent the last week with a multi-material budget friendly flagship that everyone’s been eyeing. There’s a lot of talk about "pro-level" features, but I wanted to see how the hardware actually handles high-speed flow and filament swaps in a real-world enclosure. Is this the compact powerhouse we’ve been waiting for, or are there hidden trade-offs in the assembly?

@emberprototypes @VisionMiner @formlabs Need more fire tests! Have you printed with Rigid 10k? That might just be my favorite (albeit brittle) material to print with. SUPER SMOOTH AND SUPER ACCURATE!

@emberprototypes I hate doing it but sometimes getting hold of correct connector is near impossible for quick-idea-protos. Drive-locals don't stock a good range and waiting a week for something to come from an international warehouse where part is 50c on $10 shipping is silly.

I die a little inside when I see people using through hole connectors as inline connectors. Please no.

@geoag02 In this case it wasn't that the SOT23 pinout was wrong, it was that my circuit design needed an extra FET 🙃

@emberprototypes While I have certainly done my share of oops wires on prototypes, so far every time I have messed up an SOT23 pinout i have just transposed the two pins on the same side. For that I carefully bend the pins on the part to point the other way and install it upside down.

Fixing my mistakes 🫠🫠🫠

@StonedModder I was being crazy and just using side cutters here because my strippers were at home and I was too lazy to go get them 😂

@emberprototypes Nice work! How do you reliably strip wire that thin for soldering without it snapping ? I’ve given up and just take a lighter too it and scrape the rubber off the end 🤣
