In 2021, Oda sent a celebration message to Tite Kubo, Bleach mangaka. Oda: Years ago, Kubo went on the radio and openly said, “I hate Oda.🥺” So, do I hold a grudge against Kubo? Yeah, I do. That said, his comment didn’t strike me as particularly rude. In fact, I don’t dislike him. If anything, I kind of respect the audacity it took to say something like that in public.🥰 I remember reading Kubo’s debut manga. We’re around the same age, after all. My first impression was, “Wow, this new mangaka can really draw. The concept is solid too.” You could tell from his art alone that he was a pretty confident guy. Now that he’s mentioned me like that, I’ll say this with complete confidence: someone like Kubo is an incredibly competitive, hard-working person.
