Don’t worry, Scottie Scheffler is going to be humbled soon. The dad ‘bed’ in the delivery room doesn’t care if you have 2 green jackets or have earned over $15 million in 4 months, it takes no prisoners.

@THEbrodiecarle Definitely agree, and I think the longevity of equipment plays a large roll. For the most part clubs can last 15+ years. But still seems strange that this lower priced market exists only on used clubs. With such a surge in new players, I feel like they’re not quite catered too.

One thing I’ve never understood with major golf manufacturers; is that there is only top of the line product. If you want a new driver from Taylormade or Callaway (or any other manufacturer) this year it is $800, there is no “B-tier” product.

@EricMacKenzie The good ole days! I was just learning how to read in the early 2000’s. But with massive influx of new golfers, seems like there is a large gap between the Canadian Tire boxed set of clubs, and the $800 driver. Very very few alternatives around for new sticks

@generalgrieve It wasn’t always like this. I had a B-tier Callaway Steelhead II driver in my bag in the early 2000s that I loved and could afford on a backshop attendant’s wage.

@rpeltiergolf @USGA @GolfCanada Yea, an account is needed. Usually done through the state association. USGA said Golf Canada could set me up with an account, but they said no. Absolute stalemate

Has anyone in Canada had luck being able to look up a GHIN handicap? @USGA tells me to contact Golf Canada as they are my local golf association. @GolfCanada tells me it has to be done by the USGA. Must be some way for this “World Handicap System” to actually be functional?

A long article, but quite an interesting read. What does the future of this industry look like? It’s easier than ever to join the @pgaofcanada, but that doesn’t mean people will stay. Especially when fast food restaurants pay more than many assistant pro jobs posted this year.

This is a story I've been working on for a long time about the challenges facing America's club pros, and how it's driving people away from the game. The stories were heartbreaking, it got worse during COVID, and it's something that needs to change fast. golfdigest.com/story/the-club…

Today I had someone tell me I have no idea what I’m doing, I’m completely under qualified, and I should invest in some basic business training for myself. Happy Saturday all.

Things have gotten out of control. I was just at the barber and she said “oh you’re a golfer? Did you hear about that Dad Bod tournament?” Yea… I may have heard about it once or twice.
