A Zeldalike I've been eagerly following for quite a while has just launched his kickstarter. If you liked Ocean's Heart, chances are you'll find a lot to enjoy here too!
Let's help make more zeldalikes happen : )

@patrickklepek Absolutely. From getting off the train to the credits is a thrilling sequence. I sat reeling while that banger song played. I reflected on everything that led to that moment and I wouldn’t change a thing. My game of the year.

gratitude to the players who have been so supportive, you are allowing a yearned-for thing to continue its embodiment
though I get tired sometimes I get a glimmering excitement now that I never thought was possible
cheers to the new year everyone

#3: Use fewer words. Aim for no more than 8 word one the screen at a time. If a player sees a block of text, they won’t read a single word.

My top 3 takeaways for teaching players how to play your game (from youtu.be/fbzhHSexzpY).

#2: have the player “do” rather than “read.” If your level is so simple it can’t be failed, then they player should only be able to do the right thing. And not have to read a single word.
English

#1: Teach the player so that they don’t know they are being taught. Make your first level so simple, it cannot be failed.

Added player stats and the mana spending system. This isn’t actually when mana will be spent, but it’s up and running. It’s amazing how much logic is under the hood for really simple card mechanics.

Cards can be moved and placed! Each step forward feels so good. Bringing this card game idea to life has already been so rewarding.

With Janken Online out and the Under the Ice game jam done, I’m on to prototyping my next project. This is an exciting and scary time to flesh out ideas that could end up being the next two years of my life.

Characters you unlock offline can be used online. After picking which one, the lobby has your character warming up. I thought it was a fun way to show the animations for each character and give a little ownership to the player.
